Ok - this is a rant. If you don't like rants don't read this - please!

There are so many issues with this car, primarily the software which is soooo bad and irritating and frustrating to continually deal with. I love the driving experience but the technology experience - not. Overall not a great experience. Here goes...

FordPass Issues
Not consistent recording Journeys

Problem setting up Preferred Charging Times - Wont let me set 'when plugged in' - produces error msg sometimes.

Freezes sometimes when trying to load screen to set charge times etc

Home Screen does not reliably update charge and range. Says 'updated just now' but data is a day old.

Paak does not reliably open car. And No key found error frequently, so with only one fob must use the access and backup codes.

View Chargers on home page does not reliably return any results (no results found) even when sitting at a charge station

Trip planner view trip does not show the city for each stop

Charging Times not honored. Stopped because Departure Time but no departure time is set.

Sometimes won't honor specified Manual charge settings times or max % charge.

Fordpass won't connect to car periodically.

Foot swipe opens hatch 1/2 the time, and sometimes it stops lifting part way through.

In car with phone - says Bluetooth not connected sometimes.

GOM - Premium AWD Extended - 160 mile winter range in temperate climate with a full tank. And that's about what I'm getting

Automatic headlights work most of the time but not all - unreliable.

So unreliable and unpredictable - not what you want in an automobile.

Ok I feel better now. Oops - made the mistake of trying to view the charge status. FordPass sits and spins. Lovely.

I have most of the same issues and some. Ford has really failed the first year with this vehicle. It's sad as so many bugs are minor software fixes. Paak (with one fob), OTA, BC, and all the software bugs certainly have made my six months of ownership a drag. Fords customer service is terrible and doesn't make the situation any better. Nice car otherwise but the software incompetence is a huge issue.

I wish they gave me a second key. Had the car for 8 months or so and I am on the fence to get something else or not.

I may end up having the same problems so am stuck. Am thinking polestar 2 or the ocean when it comes out. May also consider Q4 e Tron.

Can't do Tesla though it's way too loud in the cabin.

No offense, @Ford Motor Company , but this was a general rant, and they're issues that most of us share. I don't think it's anything that his dealership will be able to help out with.
Just pass our complaints on to the FordPass and software development teams!

FWIW, SOME of these issues I can echo. Auto high beams, for instance, randomly won't work for a period of time (it'll stay off when it should be coming on). I'm less concerned with that, though, and more concerned with the Fordpass and PaaK issues (as well as Sync bugs) that most of us have also experienced.

And I am ok with bugs, but I want them to get fixed and pushed out in a timely fashion -- THAT'S what isn't happening and that's where my frustration lies.

Well I’ve done that before with other issues and have never been contacted by my dealer or anyone else from Ford. I also agree with the sockmeister - these are widespread problems that need to be dealt with at the corporate level. I’m a software engineer and Project Manager and I can tell you that if I and my team had produced software of this poor quality I would have been fired long ago.

The wipers, please include the wipers. How can I pay this much for a car and not have the wipers return home when you shut off the car. I haven't had a car without that basic courtesy in a long time.

Now a new one. Twice when I turn off the MME it continues to chime. It seems the headlights were switched on instead of auto. I didn't set it, so something in the software did.

When I picked up the vehicle from service last week, all the radio presents (except satellite) were change to stations that don't exist in this area.

Hopefully the 21P22 will address these. Scheduled in 2 weeks for that.

Bruh the mach e wipers couldn't wipe an ass they are so inconsistent. Also keep getting back up break assist unavailable warnings.

Anything's possible. Clearing would actually be nice, but setting them to random stations?

It might be just what happens with a reset.

Lordy, guess I’m lucky. Only issues on both the OP’s list and mine are the foot opening trunk and subpar range.

I’ve only had my car for two weeks (but already road-tripped so I have a a decent amount of miles under my belt) and have experienced many of these same things. Setting up PaaK was such a pain I made my husband do it. My Sirius XM presets disappear randomly. Great car physically and amazing to drive. I just feel like I’m fighting software half the time.

Latest thing: car doesn’t like to recognize my physical fob! Walk up to the driver door with the fob in a pocket (or handbag sometimes, for me) and the door doesn’t unlock. My husband has a Ford Edge and in two years, it hasn’t had a single instance of the fob not unlocking the door by the time the driver reaches the handle.
