So snippy. Unnecessary.
You think that's bad... Wait until you get to the next thread or simply ask why your range isn't as advertised.

I never set up certain days. I’ve been using the walk up walk away with lock unlock with always having key fob with me. Today is the first it was all phone and because I left my fob home.
Not sure what you mean by "never set up certain days". ??? Can you elaborate?

Sometimes the dealer will pair the new owners phone to the car and set up Phone as a Key. So you may not have even been aware they did that for you.

What they probably didn't do is show you how to set up a door pillar code and a backup start code. I recommend you do those two things because they are very important if you are going to rely on your phone to operate the car. Even if you are planning on using the fob exclusively, setting up a pillar code and start code is a good idea. Write them down and put it somewhere save that can be retrieved later. Maybe a place where your spouse or best friend or trusted advisor will have access. The door pillar code will let you in. The back up start code will start the car (usually). Sometimes it won't, but that appears to be a rare situation such as locations without cell or wifi service or some random FordPass updates.

The backup start code can only be set up with a PaaK (Phone as a Key) enabled phone so I recommend you do that while PaaK is working for you.

If you need step by step instructions....we can help.

The door pillar on the driver's door. Program it with something you'll remember like an old zip code. You can then leave the fob or phone in the car and lock it, like at the beach.

Ok. I call it the side door code. I have one. I don’t plan to solely rely on the phone. I’m no sure it’s dependable enough for comfort for me. I’ll use both depending on the moment. Thanks for offering up help.

I think someone else mentioned this too, but look into setting up a back-up code (which you might have already done and forgotten you did based on this PaaK experience).

Suppose you lose your phone and key fob one day (misplace a bag containing both or something along those lines), the side door code lets you into the car, the back-up code will let you start the car by entering a password on the mainscreen. See Ford's setup video.

My favorite thing about PaaK is I get to practice using the door pillar and backup start code on a regular basis. The chances of me forgetting those codes is greatly reduced which I think is very clever and helpful of Ford.

I guess I do. I play around with this stuff, so maybe I do. It just seemed to happen on its own.
It cannot happen on its own.
When you configure PAAK you have to put in codes and so on.
So it's nothing what you do by mistake.
