It wouldn't be fair to Ford and the team helping me to say yet because there's too many unknowns. As soon as I know more and have some level of confirmation I'll say what's going on. I promise.

It's a Blackvue LTE model. The LVB doesn't drain quickly. If I don't drive it or charge it, it'll take about 3 days before the DC/DC gets engaged. You don't have to worry about draining the battery because the HVB will top it off. You'll get a message saying there's drain, but you know what the drain is, so that's actually a good message meaning the car is working as it's supposed to.
Just blink twice if they are getting rid of the 5 second limit! LOL

It's making it's way to Sacramento. Only 5 minutes away from the dealership.
Exciting video content ... I was ready for a follow-up video in case the tow company ripped off the battery rails and put it through a service bay door. Now what am I going to do with all this popcorn.

Mine failed a few weeks ago. No SVS or SVN until charging later after getting home. It must have failed when I previously drove it, but since didn't have the recall update applied, it wasn't detected until I tried to charge it. I wasn't driving it any harder that than any other day...
I powered up my 2021 Select AWD Standard Range Battery in the AM when the SVS warning appeared after the overnight charge.

Welcome to my world! This is what so many are upset about and why a lot of us think Ford should replace the contactors with the newer ones that can handle the electrical loads put on them. I feel just like you do as far as taking a long trip.
If that is the case I think selling my car and buying a different EV makes sense now. The BMW i4 M50 EV looks promising.

So does anyone know if Ford is planning to replace the original HVBJB with the "new improved version" even if it hasn't failed yet, or are they only going to replace them when they fail? If the latter, that would suck because I feel very uncomfortable taking a long trip in it, and that was one of the reasons I purchased this car.
Ford is not planning on replacing anything at this point, unless it fails. The recall makes no mention of replacing hardware. Hardware is covered by the warranty.

I guess you must know something that I don't know. Has Ford stated that 100% of contactors, previous to the new part, cannot handle the electrical loads put on them? No.

Has the number of vehicles with failed contactors even come close to 1% of all cars on the road? No.

I'm not defending Ford, but this kind of parts issue happens to cars all the time. If the number of failures climbs rapidly, then you'll likely see the NHTSA force Ford into a parts recall, if they don't voluntarily do it.

Wow, first @scoopman, now @DevSecOps have experienced the Achilles’ heel that befalls the MachE AWD. I’m glad that DevSecOps is home safe, but Ford should at least reimburse you for the gas used by your family to make the 240 mile round trip to bring you home from the dealer.

This sounds right to me, and leads me to think those of us with non-GT SR AWD MachEs will also meet the same SSN fate from needing to replace the HVBJB, only on a delayed timeframe.

I’m at 7100 Miles now and I am very hesitant to take another trip over Tejon Pass or Donner Summit. So far I’ve only done one rnon-GT SR AWD MachEsound trip over both passes, and I don’t have family that can scoop me up if I am stranded.
I own the "non-GT SR AWD MachE" and the dreaded SVS banner appeared yesterday morning when powering up.

Funny you say that when my dealership said 16 out of the 21 Mach E sold have had their HVBJB replaced.

I don't know your dealership, but the recall states like 268 out of 50,000, or about 1/2%. Your dealership's rate would be 76%. Somebody is full of malarkey.

My options at this point are drive it hard in the hope the HVBJB fails so I can get it replaced with the upgraded contactor HVBJB, or sell the car. Thanks Ford.

Maybe it was within the last year? I will check back with them. I do believe they are all equally ticking time bombs, and it ultimately comes down to how a person drives (lead foot, and/or taking trips) as well as location (mountains, deserts, etc.) will play a factor in the HVBJB demise. I didn't buy a GTPE to drive around like a little old granny.

Mine's a Premium. I drive with a heavy foot. Took it to a relative's house in Indiana two weeks ago, had it over 100, quite a few WOT from 60 up.

This gives me confidence to proceed with my 1100 mile round trip to Galveston.
