I have this same issue and my car has been stuck at the dealership without an update for over 2 weeks now... God speed my friend..
Hello, Brandon! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this concern. Thanks

Interesting. Do you have the Ford Extended Warranty? If so, which level do you have?

Obviously, we hope to have you report back what the dealership ends up charging if anything and why it doesn't fall under whichever warranty.
Sorry just saw you replied… So I do have an extended warranty. Dealer said he tried all ways to put it in for warranty and none worked. ??‍♂ Waiting on new coax cable to get in before the fix can occur. I think it’s gonna be around $250 installed if I remember correctly. Looks like Ford messaged me too so I’ll DM them to see what’s up and report back to all.

Took my vehicle to the dealership for front camera issues a few hundred miles before the warranty went out. They kept my car for a week, doing modules updates. They called me, said me car was ready, but I was told there was no paperwork needed or available. One hour after leave the dealership I received another fault. I’m sure the warranty will be expired by time I can get it back to the dealership. If I purchase the extended warranty, will it cover the camera fault?

It probably will be covered but if you brought the car in for a problem before the warranty and they didn’t fix it, it still should be covered after the warranty expired.

good luck.

Just took mine in for this issue and a couple other minor things. Dealer told me they are well aware of the front camera problem some people are having, and even this forum about the same. Dealer tells me Ford is also aware, and trying to come up with a universal fix. In the meantime, they tell me Ford has specifically instructed them to do nothing about the issue, including the fix discussed in this thread, about straightening the camera cord. According to my dealer, Ford has looked into that and determined it’s only a temporary fix, if at all, so they are working on a more permanent fix. I don’t know if any of this is accurate, but dealer is at least acting like they really understand and appreciate the problem. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was in the dealership a month ago and had the same issue while they were repairing something else. They could not find the problem with the car though they had some strange fault numbers not directly associated with the front camera or the adaptive driving, which is affected by it. It has been recurring and I am about to contact BEV as well as the Ford dealer to send it back in.

I have been having these two camera faults for 2 months. It got more frequent as time passed by to the point where I get them everyday. Dealerships didn't have appointments soon (one dealership kept forwarding my call and the phone kept ringing) so I decided to take off the cover to the front camera like some owners here have done here.

From what I read, most owners moved the cable swivel from the right to the left to lighten up the tension. My cable was already on the left side, but I moved it around anyways. I left it back on the left side. However, to my surprise, the warnings have not come up for a whole week now.

On the upside, I am glad I don't have those annoying warnings anymore. The downside is that it tells me how sensitive the camera cable/routing is so the problem may come back (probably after my bumper-to-bumper warranty expires). Not sure what to do now...

Rerouting the cable to relieve the strain is a permanent fix for some people. Personally I think it's a worth a shot because it takes all of about two minutes to fix.

+1 for what Mach-Lee said. You'll spend more time reading about how to do this fix than actually doing the fix. LOL. Even if it's not a permanent fix, it will be a longer term temporary fix. I still have not had a camera fault return since I've relieved the tension on the cord from when I did it. Definitely worth a try for the simple factor of getting rid of the annoyance of the fault on a daily basis.

What started out as an inconvenient has quickly become very annoying. I’m getting four to five fault notifications a day.

try
- popping off the black plastic surround above the rearview mirror
- rotate the video connection (mini-coax) to relieve the stress on connector, and
- give the connector a good jiggle push-pull to make sure it is well seated
- disconnect your 12v battery for a good minute to hard reset, and
- reconnect 12v battery

+1 on this. I have not had a fault since rotating the mini-coax connector and push-pull-push to re-seat.
