Frunk Open Button (via App) Update

What do you mean install PAAK? I use it but I don’t have the frunk option in the app. Have you done the dealer recall for PAAK? I have not, waiting for it to come OTA later this year

You need to set up paak in the vehicle to get the second row it does not appear just after the FP app is installed. Did not mean to confuse with the word install.

The reply was to one of our UK friends who said they have no second row of paak; no windows trunk etc. I was not aware that this is not yet available to them. Yes I have the paak update from the dealers and have no frunk button. Some thought that was what made it appear but I do not think it is. I think I will live till it comes out as the space is so small it is not of much use to me. I find the rear with 5 ways to open it much more useful.

I had to delete and reinstall FP yesterday. It had hung up on the Ford logo splash screen for several days. Now, I’ve got to set up PAAK and the inside passcode again. But that means deleting the previous settings from within the browser at Ford.com.

Can someone at Ford please think this whole thing through with a clean sheet? The software quality and UX are appalling. Ford is not a software company. Hire some real software engineers and developers and quit $&@#ing around.

Do it sitting in the vehicle? Not all has to be remote from the couch? I have done nothing at ford.ca and have removed and set paak up 4 times.

How the heck did they not use the word "Frunk" on the App? Did Tesla patent that? Also since I'm not a techie; how do you know what version of the App your running? My App not showing this.

Of note, I will be scared SH***less to update the app since my PAAK works perfectly since software update. But it was an absolute chore (3 different) sessions (attempts, at least an hour each) to get the car to accept the PAAK.

I’m really happy they properly refer to it as a “front trunk”. That is what the compartment is - a front trunk.

These smaller buttons I believe only show up if PAAK is set up. This is because these buttons ONLY work when FordPass is connected to vehicle via Bluetooth (must be within Bluetooth range). If it says Bluetooth Disconnected, those buttons won't work. If it says Bluetooth Connected, they will work (except for front trunk at this time) the front trunk button shows up with a Body Control Module update that was just released this week.

This was the result of a Body Control Module update performed by your dealer. (Unrelated to PAAK update)

I'm going to assume it will probably be OTA'd as well later. The updates will show up in dealer's service tool once released, therefore if it's there it can be installed prior to being pushed to vehicle OTA. I would guess it won't be OTA'd until the other modules updates are released to support that function (SYNC[APIM], RFA, GWM updates, etc.)

set your app to "English (US)" instead of "English (UK)" and they will show up. /s

At the risk of asking a really dumb question: Is PAAK set up and have you had the various OTA's yet?

I have PAAK and use it exclusively, I do not have the frunk icon. Odd. I’ve logged out of the app to see if that did anything. I’d rather not redo PAAK again; but let’s be honest, in a few days it’s probably going to delete itself and I’ll have to redo it then ?

Please see previous posts.. the frunk icon will only currently show in FordPass if a dealer updated your Body Control Module this week.

Interesting. I have no desire at this time to use PAAK, and uninstalled it. Had no idea I was losing the ability to have those buttons in the app.
