I have received the PaaK dealer update as well as running 3.28.0 in the app but that icon doesn't show up. I hope this button isn't for the F-150 Lightning.

I’m confused. Even if you had a frunk open button, it doesn’t matter unless the frunk is motorized. Right? I guess it spares me from having to double yank on the opener by my feet. Also, I’d rather have an automatic close button so I don’t damage the frunk when I close it.

The frunk in MME has an electronic actuator to release latch (not active yet). In the future, this will be activated so you could either open frunk via manual pull you currently use, FordPass app or on information display(SYNC Screen). (And the in frunk button if you're trapped in there)

Good lord man! How hard are you slamming the hood down?
I am not slamming the hood down. But, whenever I close it, there is some bend in the metal. None of my other vehicles have ever had that before. I noticed the same thing with M3 and MY that we test drove.

Do you use the method that Ford recommends? There was a video posted on here. Lower the cover/hood to about 8-12" from the latch then then push it rapidly toward the latch but don't keep your hands in contact with the cover/hood.

The hood isn’t metal btw, or the front fenders. Pretty sure it isn’t on the Teslas either but do not know for sure. Lots of newer cars have composite front clips and seems ours are similar.

Heck, the only steel panel on my Chevy Bolt was the rear quarter. Those are my autocross magnets.

I have tried this method several times. It only grabs the first latch, never closes completely.

That method doesn't work on all MME's. There is another thread on this. I took mine to the dealer some time ago; they oiled the latches and told me to keep hands/pressure throughout the close. That's the only way mine, and some others, will close. I stopped using the frunk because you do feel as if you could damage the car using the pressure that's required.

So it’s great that we are all talking about this new exciting feature that maybe a small number of people have gotten (those with the Dealer-installed body control update)…. But from what I gather from this thread, nobody has actually confirmed that the frunk open button on the app actually works!

From what I read there’s a button on the app, when pushed gives an error message. Somebody tell me that I’m wrong???

That sums it up.

Much ado about nothing.
