Ok. So. I had a RTE 1. Long story short I got a GT AS a replacement. Worked fine from October to January 4th when it became a brick. The shop had it for three weeks, everything seemed ok. Now I got an alert yesterday about service asap. Of course this happened Saturday afternoon at 4 pm. Well on my app I got power train malfunction/ reduced power AND high voltage battery warning.
Now I have had it back for less than a month and now I have to go back to the shop. Anyone else having a lot of issues? I understand new car and technology but seriously I am getting really upset here. Is there something that I am doing wrong? Car has less than 6800 miles on it and I am getting aggravated with the service department as most of them see, like under trained monkeys. Not the tech the idiots at the counter don’t seem to understand that when it shuts down it’s down. Maybe I am asking for too much

Yes. I’m having serious issues with charging and it will not charge to 80% overnight. Ford on here has reached out directly to me but so far nothing. They just ask me questions that I’ve given them or that should be available in their database or they could call my dealer because I have them that info already. I’m am trying to figure out how to dump the car without taking a bloodbath in the 60k I am into it. I can’t have a car that doesn’t use gas and will not charge properly. All week I have had to be out of town for work but every morning it shuts off. So I am left scrambling trying to figure out how to make it work to get to where I need to be. Unacceptable.

A bloodbath? Have you looked at the values of used Mach-Es? I'd be surprised if you don't end up with a profit if you were able to use the tax credit.

Sorry for your pain, I truly am. I sometimes get tempted about thinking "Maybe a Mach-e in a year or two" but in reality, I need to weight this properly and throw out hype and marketing blitz bombardment which is non-stop for EVs and embrace reality.

Correct me if my perspective is off, but Ford's been building gas powered vehicles for what, 100 years+ now? The customer service guy has a pretty good idea of what's going on just from people saying "It goes rrrrrt, rrrt, when..." They've seen it for years and years if not decades some of these guys. The techs all now gas powered vehicles.

But now? It's all motherboard and cabling. Some cooling and traditional systems but not a lot. And it's not just Ford, it's everyone shifting to EVs.

IMO this is going to take a decade or longer for companies to figure out how to build reliable EV's and get their service departments re-tooled to handle them quickly and properly so...

Tesla, it would seem, should have a huge lead in the servicing area, but Musk is uninterested in this side of the business and their service fix and repair times, locations, it's an absolute mess. So sad, but true...

So punt on the EV, lemon law it if you can and move forward with a gas powered rig for another 5 years or so until you see issues being reduced and repair times increasing - greatly increasing... That's my take.

Most people with this issue are living in extreme cold regions. This is the first time I heard about the same issue in Florida. Mine worked with no issues in summers and as temaratures dropped, this all started
I am having cold weather issues with my machE. It was fine before Christmas in the cold but the last few weeks if I leave it unplugged in the cold for even an hour it won't charge, won't start, won't do anything. The dealer says it is just not good in the cold and to always have it plugged in. Surely this can't be the answer

I'm not thrilled to hear that replacing the BECM wasn't a permanent fix for you. That's what mine is in the shop for right now...

How long have you been in the shop? Only good news is I might be able to get FORD to pay my car payments. I will see.....

They are absolutely certain it is not my charger. Really guys? I have not had it on the charger for a while I will remind them though.
It's a matter of isolating commonalities. That's something I think they should reconsider eliminating as a factor.

Since Feb. 8th. I was told the same March 17th date for the BECM. Who do I have to complain to for that? Mine will be in the shop for well over a month.

My dealership told me the same but there's something wrong with the car. Mine didn't start when kept outside for 30 mins. Now they're convinced that something's wrong and replaced my 12v battery and now replacing BECM and HVJB.

I said something to my service writer, he said
A: have to intend on keeping car
B: They will submit AFTER I pick it up
C: I have to take in payment stub or something showing it
D: Proof of payment
