Perhaps. But sometimes there are subtle hints that a company is poorly managed and is losing its focus. And sometimes the hints are not subtle at all...

I liked the I-Pace, and very nearly bought one before I got the Mustang three years ago.

To your questions, I like the Mustang a lot, I would buy it again, and service has been excellent from Day 1 - that part varies, depending on the dealer you use. Good luck with your decision!
When I first saw the commercial I thought it was for a new perfume brand. Epic fail.

I know a couple of folks have mentioned how well it handles. Something that has influenced many/most cars I have purchased over the past 1/2 century.

But visually I'm not feeeeeling it.
That's NOT the rear wheel/rotor/caliper. ?

And why the mediocre (by EV standards) performance?

I will say it's a looker though.

Good timing anyway to exit the I-PACE, unknown path forward given the vast changes with brand image.
So I should get rid of my I Pace because they rebranded?

All the fuss over the logo redesign and that fashion week-esque commercial is comical. Are you telling me if they unveil a car that would normally blow you away you won’t like it because of an ad?

Where have you been? ?

It's no longer about the product.
Rather it's the personality, public persona, and/or politics of some man or women that represents. ???

Please don't take anything I post too seriously. In real life almost nobody that knows me does. I've trained them well. ?

I went out and looked at several EVs …
Not quite a reply to this quote, however I wanted to let you know that we’ve been satisfied with the service we get at Asheville Ford for our two 2021 MMEs. My current one is a replacement that I got from CarMax, and there have been no issues with the service on that too.

Over the past few years I've owned or leased six different EV/PHEVs and test driven quite a few more.

My Mach E is my favorite of the bunch that I've owned or leased. If something happened to my Mach E and I couldn't replace it with the same, I'd look favorably on the Volvo C40 / XC40 or the BMW i4. Very different cars, but either could possibly replace a Mach E depending on exactly what features you were looking for.

These also seem like they would be good comparison against the Jaguar i-Pace.

My comment is less about the direction and more about the future sustainability of the company. If the rebranding effort (NEW EV) fails and TATA (the owner) decides to part ways, the brand value will likely decline. This could also make it difficult to service or find parts for vehicles like the I-Pace.

When a company stops making cars for a year and shifts its focus to a non-mainstream advertising campaign, it should raise some alarms.

For context, I don’t own a Jaguar nor have any vested interest in the company. I’m a MACH-E owner, and since the OP asked for comments, here we are.

Again all I said was unknown future path given the changes going on at the company, this is a FACT. So if one is thinking about leaving the I-PACE for a MACH-E my comment was only about timing.

I just traded in my, almost 4 year old ‘21, for a new ’24 on a short lease. I still like the car and the current lease offers seemed generous. I’m still looking for a follow-on but still haven’t found a different EV that I want. So, I’ve got a second MME, which is the first repeat purchase for me. I figure I got 2 more years now to find that new EV that grabs me. In the meantime, I’m still happy driving the MME and mine now feels A LOT newer?.

We're glad you're enjoying the Mach-E. Thank you for being part of the Ford Family!

Jaguar isn't so much a company any more as just a brand within JLR, which itself is a subsidiary of Tata. Regardless of the specifics of Jaguar's "new direction" it seems a very risky time for the brand. Every existing Jaguar model is being discontinued and a single EV will now take over. The new EV is expected to use a very distinctive design language and cost well north of $100k. It is a moment in the brand's history where a misstep could be quite costly.

3 & 1/2 years and still enjoying driving it daily. Echo your sentiment about the ventilated seats. It's one of the few things I miss from my "petrol" ride.

Anyway, welcome to the forum.

Hi all,
I’ve been on this forum before looking at a Mach-e before we started our EV journey. In 2022 we bought a 2019 CPO Jaguar I-pace with 9k miles. We love the car, hate the dealer service. Unfortunately, we just found out that our car has a battery recall and Jaguar is going to buy back all the US 2019 models instead of replacing the battery.
Truthfully, we hate that decision. We finally got all the known problems fixed and we really like the car.
The one deciding factor for a Ipace over the Mach E was ventilated seats. Now I see the 2025 Mach-e will have them, we may be looking into one.
What is everyone’s opinion on the Mach E? Would you buy it again? Everyone manufacturer has horror stories. Has service gotten better?
thanks
3+ years with Mach-E. No issues other than recalls… most handled OTA. Love the quiet cabin, smoother than our Tesla. Service Depts still have a way to go to get up to speed on their own EVs. Seems Ford is leaving them to get their experiences in real time when customers bring in their cars. Formal training seems to be lacking and they seem to not a clue what’s happening with a vehicle comes in. I’ve been told several times by the service departments that the customer receives recall letters before the service departments. I assume this will improve over time, but the last three years has been frustrating trying to get answers. Again, really do like the car and its reliability so far. But it has become very apparent. Ford has left the original Mach E purchasers behind with updates and are only focusing on current buyers. That is enormously frustrating because we were the guinea pigs that have lived through so many early adopter issues with Ford, but it feels they have just walked away from us

IF (and it's a BIG "if") my garage-kept 2023 Mach-E Premium AWD's (2,600 miles) value hasn't plummeted ridiculously since its purchase, I'd trade-up for a late-build '25 Premium or Rally (sans striping!). And even if it has, IF Ford made Highland Green an available color, I'd do a deal in a heartbeat.
P.S. Haven't taken the car on a road trip; have only charged at 120 volts at home (and to 100% only three times since June 28, 2024); haven't gotten my NACS adapter yet (but it's still "November"); and love driving it.

23 premium, quite happy. Sure, some small issues, but they keep improving. The 21 and 22 owners had it tougher for sure. Im even looking at considering a 25, i they will be a bit more refined. Heat pump!

The android auto integration, and the app improvements the last month to start climate control before reaching the car and fine tune it, are good examples of continued investment.

If i had a list of small annoyances they would include not having a seat belt retainer on the rear seat, you have to hold the belt out of the way with one hand while raising the seat with the other: rear seat passengers complain about the bouncy ride, a little less cargo space than i would like, and a hard to access 12v battery (its a consumable!). These are all quite minor gripes.

Something about the aa / gm integration did get flakey last week. Gps is not locking in like it usually does. Also, i have been plagued with driver facing camera faults the Interrupt bluecruise, unkinked the cable, took it to the dealer thrice.

Reality is there was almost no competition in 23, now there is a lot. GMs platform powering the honda, the suburu, all the Hyundais (korea is the new Japan), lyric, vw, polestars, etc. most either have, or will have supercharger access early next year.

For a practical car, i might be in the market for something a little bigger, but maybe not. The mache us still hitting the size sweet spot quite well for me.

Thanks for the input. The 2025 Mach E is on top of the list right now. Currently, I’m waiting on Jaguar to see what their offer is. If they get me into a 23 or 24 Ipace for a great price, I would be happy. If not then at least give me decent money for my car. Unfortunately, the values have dropped like a rock. I’m so disappointed in Jaguar customer support. They should be on top of this if they want to keep customers and attract new. Right now we feel screwed. But I’m optimistic they will offer a reasonable solution.
