I have been lazy about trying to get my Grizzl-E Smart connected up to the internet. This thread has me dreading another attempt. I have it at our vacation house in Wisconsin and won't be near the unit again until late December. I took a stab at connecting it back in July and figured I would just use it as a regular EVSE because it seemed too complicated to spend my whole vacation troubleshooting. I definitely don't want to be fiddling around with it in the winter cold in December either, so I guess I am holding off until next summer to see about getting it to actually connect to the web. What app are you using to try and get it working? I think I saw that they have their own Grizzl-E Smart app out, but it looks like it isn't ready for prime time yet. I had tried a couple of others, but if anyone has an app that works on Android, please let me know.

OP have you tried connecting to your phone hot spot to see if that can be done?
My phone won't do hot spot. I will try a few more times tomorrow.

I'm calmed down a bit now and should be better tomorrow. I was about to throw everything into the woods this afternoon.

I've invested so much time into this thing I really want it to work. My next choice will be the Charge Point, if Amazon still has it in stock. I asked United Chargers to have a tech call me and try to walk me through it. We'll see if they do that

I think they have an android app but not one for iPhone. So the plan is to just use their portal if I can get it working.

Honestly the price was what drew me to Grizzl-E, now I'm wondering if saving a few buck is really worth the aggravation.

OK, I tried again using my laptop, MacBook Air, with Google Chrome instead of Safari. It accepted the password and credentials and appears to have a good signal, RSII 53. Still not connecting.

So.............is there a chance that our router is blocking it in someway? How would I know? How would I correct that?

I'm waiting for a return call from our internet provider to see if they have these answers.

Try changing your password on your router to something simple with only letters. Sometimes special characters cause issues with some devices.

You should also try another router or hotspot and see what happens to rule out your router as the cause.

Could be. I'm waiting for a return call from my provider to see if they have any suggestions concerning the router (they supplied it).

Honestly, at this point I'm done messing with it and will just use it as a dumb charger. Way more trouble than it's worth. I'll consider a different unit at some point in the future

Dang, I wonder if anyone else has this issue? I had just about decided on the Grizzle E Duo but this worries me. We only have iPhones, too, so if there's no app for that yet, then, ugh

I think I saw you mention that you are using a wifi extender. These can cause absolute havoc on your wifi - especially if the original signal is also making it out to your garage. Try disconnecting the extender and connecting with the poor connection - you may be surprised. If this is the problem and you don't have a way to run a wire to create a second wifi network, I would suggest looking into a mesh wifi system like the orbi or the eero .

No worries about the Duo as it's not a Smart charger. Mine works just fine as a dumb charger. I'm bummed that I paid about $50 for the smart feature and I can't seem to use it
