The GOM (guess-o-meter) must be calculating the "lead foot" syndrome... my understanding is... if you can keep your foot out of it... under 75 mph (not the reason for buying a GTPE)... that some are bringing higher mileage than Ford originally stated. I will never know... I have the "lead foot" problem... probably, better range with 1 pedal mode... guessing, of course
As I am reading thru all the replies with Range/EPA.......Lots of useful info based on Owners who have had the MME longer....

I am still adjusting but so is my GTPE with my driving habits.....I used to drive FAST 24/7 until I became a C * P.... :D

I only sped when necessary bc we are all trained to get to the scene safely not the fastest......Of course, there will be instances where I would need to speed like a Demon but not very often.....

I love the instant torque in this ride therefore no need to be a lead foot to be a safer driver.....Knowing it's there is a wonderful option.

The Range is not a factor anymore but just out of curiosity as I use this for pleasure and work from Home now......

With my 2018 Tesla Model 3 Performance, I had the opposite problem. The Tesla would be consistently overly optimistic about my range by 10-15%. Two things helped me with this. First, I downloaded an app called Stats for Tesla. This app would give me a much more accurate estimate for my current range. Second, I changed the display from estimated miles to battery percentage. I found it easier to monitor and interpret the power indicator if it was stated in terms of percent as opposed to miles. For example, I like that my iPhone says I have 80% battery left, instead of say number of hours of talk time left.

Are there any similar options for the MME? Is there an app (made by Ford or a third party) that gives you a more accurate estimate? And is there a way to display percentage of battery remaining instead of miles?

Thank you,
joe

My MME displays both the GOM number and the remaining battery percentage by default. The GOM number is in a bigger font. My car is a 2021 Job 2 car. ??

I have a trick I learned to make you feel substantially better about the published range versus the actual range in your MME....

As others have said, it’s really the efficiency in miles per kwh that you need to monitor. When driving such that I know I have to stop for a fast charge I may tone it down to 65mph ohm the hiway and really try and maintain above 3.0 mi/kwh Now that it’s getting warmer it will be even easier. For nearby driving when I can always come home and charge, bashing the pedal now and then is more fun, no doubt?

This is great. So there is a more accurate GOM for the Tesla, it’s just an app you have to download. Something in me finds that hilarious and I don’t know why.

Hello,

I have had the GTPE since 3/31/22 and have noticed my max range is only 230 Miles at 100% on a Level 2 home charger. On a DC3 charger, Max charge is 80% with Electrify America....

I thought the GTPE has a normal range of 260 miles fully/100% charged?
Here we go again ?

I have / had Tesla's and their GOM is very, very optimistic.

is the usable amount of battery pack 91 kWh in the 2022 GTPE? I thought 2021 was 88 kWh?

Here is where we post discussions homie regardless of what it is

Either add your experience or don’t add
at all

Range vs EPA are totally different & depends n driving habits, temperature, etc

I have grown accustomed to the low 200’s

yesterday in South Dakota it was windy.....Trip to Sioux Falls in the morning 58 miles into a 40 gusting to 60 mph wind at 80 mph, got 1.4 miles per K. coming home in the afternoon wind switch to the west, got 1.9 miles per K. at 80 mph. battery was down to about 20% from 100% at the start with about 50 miles of range left. total trip was 125 miles, temps in the 60s and 70s. First time all year I seen the 60's.

Yes, 91 in 2022 and 88 in 2021. 2021's MAY be increased to 91 at some point. And, it's possible, that 91 may not stay the max, since the battery is 98kWh total. Ford watches usage, and charging habits, and will adapt as time goes on to ensure 70% capacity of the ORIGINAL capacity you bought, at 8 years or 100,000 miles. Therefore, if you are down to say 85kWh, and they have 7 to spare, they can give you 3 more and you have 88 at 8 years.

My range was at 279 today…..it hit the high 70’s weather-wise in NC…..for my GT non PE. Had it a month now. Car is ‘learning’ me and the weather is really warming up. Agree with others… the miles/kWh is what’s most important.
