I'm feeling quite disappointed because my wife refuses to ride in my Mach-E GT, and it's all because of the uncomfortable seats. She says the seat backs are too deep, which forces the headrests to push her head forward in a way that’s really uncomfortable for her (neck injury). I've already tried using 1-inch seat cushions to improve the situation, but unfortunately, they didn’t help. Now, I'm beginning to regret my decision to get this car. Does anyone have any advice or solutions on how I can make the seats more comfortable for her? I really want her to enjoy riding in it with me.

Unfortunately, given that the headrests are not adjustable, there's not much you can do other than maybe to add a thicker back insert to see if you can space her off of the head rest so that it's comfortable and maybe recline the seat back a few more degrees. The seats seem OK for my head/neck unless I'm wearing a helmet. Then it's not good. ??

Interestingly, I'm not happy with the seats in my GTPE, but it's not the shape design, it's the alcantera like fabric on the seat fronts. I've actually felt in the summer that the seat heaters are coming on, have gone so far as to flip switch on/off a few times. I've never had seats that absolutely don't breathe, and my back is soaked with sweat minutes after starting driving. The fabric doesn't breathe, it's worse than vinyl I guess I'll end up getting some seat cover.

Could always buy a new seat and install it I imagine it would be cheaper than getting a different car

Have you tried adjusting the lumbar support and side bolsters? Pushing the lumbar forward and reducing the side bolster “squeeze” may help.

A simple solution may be a small memory foam pillow behind her. With a neck injury, the answer may be “whatever it takes” to be comfortable.

The solution to the headrest being to close is the same as all other cars. Recline the seat back 1.5 inches. That plus setting lumbar to your liking should do the trick.

I really really like the seat material in my GTPE. No overheating in the summer like leather. I was somewhat disappointed about going back in time with leather seats when I got my lightning ?

I’m so surprised Ford did not add ventilated seats especially for this price point

Obvious question — did you do the lumbar adjustment?

Try flipping the headrest around and add a pad or pillow as needed to support her head comfortably. Likely doesn't conform to safety spec, but may help your situation.

I wish Ford gave the option to have regular seats in the GTs. Fundamentally, it comes down to the seats being designed to grip you very well for performance driving, which I’m sure they do very well, but many people don’t need that level of sport performance from their seats and would prefer to get seats a bit more balanced between sport and comfort.

Can’t. The GT-PE seats are one piece. ?‍♂?

Depends on your build. I find the Premuim seats not as comfortable. Aside from when I have a helmet on, I find the Performance seat to be great. I may get into my seat and try to bend the headrest back a little. It will look janky, but… ??

For me, the standard GT seats from 21-22 were much more comfortable than the newer 24 replacement ones which seem to be the GTPE seats for the most part.

I love the support of the 24 GT seats. I feel though it depends on the body type, but its the most comfortable seat I have ever sat in and my wife feels the same. Bummer it doesn't work for your wife

The solution to making the most people happy is adjustability.

The 2024 is 10 way adjustable vs 8 for 21-23. The non-adjustable headrest just makes no one happy. ?

Update: I bought a seat cushion, back support cushion and a head rest pillow which actually works for her now. But now my car looks like it’s more suited for a nap and a Netflix binge. ?
