Maybe, but why bother explaining and illustrating the distinction between modules and arrays if you’re just gonna swap the whole thing? It seems to me that they’re singling out some specific subset of modules for testing purposes.

As to not wanting them to mess with stuff, based on my HVBJB recall progress, I’m with you on that.
I agree with you the plan is to just swap modules with the appropriate SNs. I would certainly prefer a whole new battery pack in this situation.

They have to replace the whole pack if the battery SoH is below a certain threshold, I think it’s 95%. Can’t put a new module in an old pack because the capacity difference would be too great.

I read this a little different.
For extended-range batteries, the fifth row may need to be removed if all of the affected SN are
not found within the visible 5 rows and inspection of the fifth lower is needed.
They are looking for something, batteries with a certain serial number range?
our 2023 was built 5 days after the date shown on this sheet.

Are they looking for a couple date codes or just 1. If it's just one, anyone find it highly irregular that a single code could span 3 years of production?

Mine is at 90%, so I hope Ford reaches out and I get a new battery pack out of this...

Wow, this program really sells itself. I really want to go without my car for some indeterminant amount of time while the dealer performs open heart surgery on my car for reasons they won't disclose. Where do I sign up?

If they're promising a brand new battery, then it's another story.....

Porsche has done a bunch of studies on their Taycan packs from used cars. They concluded there’s no significant degradation from well-used and oft-DC charged packs, so they’ve done away with the 200kW DCFC nerfing button on their 2025 cars.

If Ford is studying these modules and packs, i imagine they’ll reach the same conclusion that they’re fine after 3 years and tens of thousands of miles. Besides, it’s not like a relatively meager 300A is gonna do much to these things.

Yeah. I wish ford would use the information to update the charging curve again. I really feel like their ‘boost’ at the beginning could go on a lot longer.
The charging curve isn’t terrible but it could be sped up a little I think. I doubt they will till the next gen batteries though.

In a recent interview, Jim Farley referenced the sales pitch we all got that these cars would be improved in their performance via OTA updates. It could still happen (and should!) but don’t hold your breath.

If Ford is studying these batteries to see how they’re holding up after 1-3 years, then maybe we’ll see something if they confirm there’s no harm.

why thin, some of these cars are 3 years old at this point. my OBD2 says i'm at 93% SOH
Yep, you're right. I meant odds of it being 95% SOH or more at this stage are pretty thin.
