Ok Dan, here is your update ?

After working on a few modifications to get the dash light strip to look like it is a continuation of the door, I think I finally got it. I had to glue a thin support across the back where I would be mounting the LED strip light so that it is angled down to match the position of the door lighting. Then glued the light strip both on the support and dash trim. I used a hot glue gun. It was all kind of tricky. I tried different supports, adhesives, epoxies, etc. Took me most of a day to figure out the best solution.

While I got that in and done, I am not finished yet. The LED strip lights for the doors and dash are much brighter than the other lighting supplied with the kit. Even though you can dim the lighting using the Sync controls, if you dim the LED strips down to an acceptable level, then the door storage, floor lighting, etc is too dim. I am working on finding the proper resistors to dim only the LED strip lighting to more closely match the intensity of the other lights. Should have that figured out in a day or two if time permits.

First you have to make sure the lip under the trim is completely flat and there are areas that protrude so you need to flatten them down. I am only showing one area here but there were several and the one under the drivers display is thin and difficult area to work with.

Quick photo I took last night in Sac airport parking lot. The dash light look great and match up perfectly with the door strip lighting.

Thanks for the update. It looks great! I think it is too big of a job to tackle for me. I can just see starting it and a month later parts scattered all over the garage like the scare crow in the wizard of Oz.

Nice job and thanks for sharing.

MarkBoris does that dash trim simply lift up or is it screwed in places. I've picked up Simon's kit too and was hoping to tackle it one of these weekends. Thought I'd start with the dashboard strip before doing the doors (hopefully my upgraded door modules arrive soon).

Dash trim lifts up. No screws. 21 clips and 4 push pins over the area where the air bag is. I start on the passenger side.

Dan the Man, forgot to tell you an important part.... I did not use the LED strips that come in the kit for the dash since they are not the same as the ones on the doors. In order to make it look exactly like a continuation of the door lighting, I needed to use the door LED strips and so had to get a second get for that. I am using bits and pieces from that second kit for other projects so it worked out ok.

Would you have a good source? Ideally cheap ?

I do not. I buy them from the online EV-Vida store. I know they are out of stock currently and I just texted Simon when he thought they would get more in. I'll post when I hear something.

Dan the Man, I had time today to work on the lighting and found a 1K ohm resistor was a good match to allow the LED strip lights to be more on the same brightness as all the other accent lighting. I went around and installed them for the dash and behind each door panel and tonight when dark will test further but I think these will do it for me.

I'm interested in installing some interior trim lights for the dash and doors. Looks like GlowRide has pretty good reviews, and is pretty simple install. https://getglowride.com/

Has anyone done something similar or have another product they recommend? Looking for something DIY for a "non-electrician".

The only thing I haven't figured out is way to hide the wires when the door is open, so any suggestions there would be helpful...
Yes I hav there is a kit
