Hatch closing error

Intermittent issue with hatch traveling half way down and stopping with warning tone. It acts like there is an obstruction, but there isn't anything in there. Is there an adjustment to the resistance force necessary to cause the hatch to stop?

The tech at Ford doesn't see any tech bulletins on that issue.

I am going to guess that you have kick to open since it's a 2021. Do you also have the random hatch opening on it's own? Does the car honk when it stops closing?

Many of these issues are related and Ford has attempted to fix it on my car by replacing the entire hatch, to no avail. It's thought to be an issue with moisture getting into the electronics.

Yes, it is a FE, so it has all the toys. Good to know about the moisture issue. Yes, as I get halfway to the driver's door it stops and honks. Doesn't matter if foot or button. Why do other manufacturers get these things to work??!!

I haven’t had my hatch hit my garage door (yet) but I have had the occasional honk and stop when I press the button to close the hatch.

Anything to do to prevent the inevitable hatch hit on my garage door? I’ve got foam everywhere it would hit I think.

Certainly not having a Ford dealer have monkeys bang hammers on my hatch like it sounds like they did to yours.
