Never been a fan of non-round steering wheels on anything with slower than 8:1 steering. Function suffers on slower steering. ??
Me neither.

Steering wheel. It can make the car turn:

Ford Mustang Mach-E Here we go again... Capri EV 1720658829187-uh

Control column: It can make the airplane do stuff in 3 dimensions:

Ford Mustang Mach-E Here we go again... Capri EV 1720658898906-ry

Toy airplane. Similar to non round steering wheels.

First the mustang, now the Capri, taking a beloved coupe and slapping the name on an electric crossover. I don't see this thing going over very well.

I mean, so what? Call it whatever. Why do people get all hung up on a cars name? I wish my life was so problem and worry free that this was what I had to be upset about

Wasn't the original Capri really a prettied-up Ford Cortina?
Not at all. Cortina was UK built, Capri in Germany. Cortina was a long established small family type low cost unit. It got a late redesign with modern styling for the last couple of production years before they quit making it. It also had some Lucas electricals that weren't too reliable in the end.

This discussion brings memories. I learned to drive in a Cortina (4-speed) but thought the Capri much sexier. Cortina at the Ford store, Capri at Lincoln Mercury Division.

Our imported 1971 Cortina had a manual foot pump for the windshield washer (I suppose I should say windscreen, is that more British?). How hard/fast you pressed down determined the height up the glass where the stream would hit.

If you went over a sharp bump, the headlights would switch dim/bright. I don't though that was intended as a design feature! Lucas strikes again...

Both cars at that time had those 4-stud steel 13" rally wheels and pretty decent tires for "economy" cars, if I remember correctly.

There are those who recall those cars fondly. Guess I'm one of them.

My ‘76 Capri had the same manual foot pump for the windshield washer. ?
They changed that to a switch on the stalk in ‘77

on WLTP, which is wildly inaccurate.
I know, you’re bang on, but it’s as equally inaccurate as the MMe’s WLTP quote so it is at least comparing rotten eggs with rotten eggs??‍♂ and is at least some form of a comparison, I know what I’m promised and know what I’ll get which is around 60% on my type of use.
