Still way better looking than anything Tesla...
Whenever I remember that Tesla's head of design worked at Mazda, the best Japanese car brand by far imo, it makes me want to cry. He designed a striking looking Mazda supercar called the furai I believe, he was so talented. Then he made the cybertruck. I will say he has a broad design range, a lot of designers like Ian Callum don't, everything Ian creates looks like a Jag.

I just remember seeing a lot of Capris with V8 swaps. Some of them the evil bow tie brand. ??

Wasn't a Mercury Cougar a rebranded, upgraded Mustang? My family had one. It had the current in thing of an 8 track tape sound system and, when you turned on your turn signals, the lights would flash in sequence like a cat's swishing tail.

First the mustang, now the Capri, taking a beloved coupe and slapping the name on an electric crossover. I don't see this thing going over very well.

I don't find the car offensive. But the guy with the body language, emoting like I'm not cool enough to understand what he's all about... Yeah.

Yes from '67-'73 is was basically a rebranded mustang. From '71'-'73 it got away from a muscle car type body and went more for a luxury two-door. Staring in '74 it was had its own style and had nothing in common with the then '74 Mustang II. I had a '71 and a '73 convertible. Really liked that car. Huge on the outside, very little room on the inside. ?

Don't forget the '90s Capri...an Australian built, Mazda powered roadster meant to compete with the Miata.

Wow they took the wheels from the 79 Stang and brought them to 1985 for Mercury. I think I remember the tail lights also from the 79 on that Capri.

Correct. No Mustang II version of the Capri. I had a white '76 Capri and silver '77 Capri (the last year they imported them) then a '79 Capri which was the first Fox body (same as the Mustang).
I had a 79 with the Turbo 4 cylinder. I had to get rid of it because it couldn’t handle even a couple inches of snow.

I wouldn't surprise me if that's the designer, and they went to art center in Pasadena. Fits the personality to a T.

That looks like a Temu version of a Polestar 2. I don't even like the side profile of the P2 and it's even worse here. Will have to see some live footage of it (and probably in different colors) to really judge.
Which is ironic given that Polestar is owned by Geely. Lol. They also swiped the DRLs from Porsche.

The camo’d spy shots hinted at some P2 design cues from the side in the blacked out A-pillar, window line and the squared off rear haunches so I expected as much, but as someone who has both a P2 and a Mach-E in the garage I’m not sure I’m liking what I’m seeing here. That color ain’t doing this car any favors either.
