Sure. I'm listening for this noise and I will not be accepting my car if it has it.
Agree.
It would bother me quite a bit.
The preproduction model that I drove did not make that noise and I have very good hearing so I would have noticed.

I expect this will be fixed or remedied somehow.

You break easily. The deal is you get the dealer to commit to fixing it.
If the car showed up that way, it would certainly have to be resolved before we would buy it. It will be the wife's daily driver, and that's not a good way to start out. Agree the dealer would have to fix it.

I have the exact same whine. It sounds like it's the driver's display or underneath, centered on the steering wheel. I hadn't noticed it before because the HVAC and music down it out to my ears. Now that I've heard it though, I'll probably hear it all the time.

I test drove a Mach E for the first time today and that electrical whine was one of the very few things I found to pick on. It was present when the vehicle was parked.

I ended up turning down the brightness of the dash display and with just one notch down (it was on full brightness) the sound completely stopped.

Try that if you haven’t already.
Unfortunately changing the brightness only slightly changes the pitch of the whine, but it's still there. In my second video I tried to demonstrate this.

I had a brand new 2015 F150 with a wind noise that I clearly heard and others had to try and hear. It was confirmed it was there, but after so many trips to the dealer and waiting for Ford to acknowledge an issue... nothing was done. I think there was an eventual Technical Service Bulletin on it, but it actually ruined the experience for me...luckily for me...it pushed me into a Ford Focus Electric off the back of it... So I'm hoping not to have to chase the dealer on this - especially when it's easy to say "I don't hear anything." on their end.

For those that can hear it - it can be very annoying.

My 2008 Lexus Rx400h Hybrid has had a similar "high pitched hum" but the engine runs often enough to drown it out...

I will definitely listen for it when I go to pick mine up next month. Good luck all!

Interesting...my daughter has a Highlander hybrid and it has a loud whine that can be heard when standing next to the car. It cannot be heard over the engine when it's running. I can't hear it when sitting inside.

When she leaves our house, I can hear it as she heads down the street - I don't have to be that close to the car.

Do you still hear it with something on like talk radio, or low vol music?

I personally still hear it with low vol/audiobooks. My partner doesn't hear it much at all though (granted he never seems to hear any of those high-pitched sounds I point out).

I guess I’d put it another way: We don’t have our car yet (it’s on its way) but I can’t see my wife accepting the car if it made that sound. It would be a dilemma.
I am in the same situation-we are not a family that likes a particular make but m wife is definitely not a "Ford" person. We own or have owned Acura, BMW, Toyota and Nissan. When I decided on this as my next car the wife was like "a Ford?". I told her it would be fine and not to worry. It took some convincing but when she saw the Mach E at the tour she fell in love. I do not need something stupid like a noise to be the "I told you so". I will never *cough *cough hear the end of it!

Got a call back from the Service department at my dealership.

Ford responded that they should compare the noise to a like model, which they just got in another Mach-E today apparently. She claimed this new Mach-E makes the same sounds per the service people who looked at mine.

I've requested to stop by with my Mach-E to compare side-by-side. The one they have is in their owners hands for now, but will be back on the lot Friday, so I'll hopefully go by then to compare.

I did tell her that even though I understand they're following Ford's recommendations, I'll probably be "fighting" Ford's response, whether that's with their help or not.

Ultimately I do want to compare, maybe I'm just being super picky - but I can't believe it to be normal. We'll see though....

There are lemon laws too. Almost did that for the crappy MFT on my Escape. They changed a module and fixed it.

I am picking mine up today and I definitely hear it. I will join in any effort to try and get this fixed.

If you don't mind - please take a video using your cell phone of the screen (with your phone close to the instrument cluster) to demonstrate and send to me. You can reach out via PM if you'd prefer to e-mail it/etc.

Want to try and get as many examples with and without it, as I'll probably be pushing my dealer and/or Ford about it.
