So far my biggest issue/complaint is a pretty obvious high-pitched electrical whine that seems to come from somewhere around the small instrument cluster screen. As soon as I get in the car and it "wakes up" it's immediately obvious to me, and incredibly annoying. I do have sensitive hearing, and have usually pointed out these kinds of noises to others who don't hear them, but this one is blaringly obvious. Without music to drown it out, it's downright obnoxious!

Any other Mach-E owners experience/notice this? I even had my partner get in and he hears it, but isn't as annoyed by it.

Something to do with aircon perhaps? I know my focus made strange noises when starting up.

I've turned HVAC off and it continues - it's always there when the car is "awake", driving, etc.

Always there .... hmm ....with all reviews out there don’t recollect reading about such a noise ... would be annoying to me if it’s always there as I too have sensitive ears

I've heard that the electric motors "whine" but but I wouldn't think it would come from the small instrument cluster. Would it have something to do with those two led red lights I see flashing in the videos that check to see if you're paying attention to the road?

They do - and I love that sound. The "whurr" of an electrical motor in an EV is pretty cool and feels futuristic to me, but this isn't that.

You mean the IR lights on the hands-free driving cameras? Certainly could be something in there. I'm thinking it's something in the electronics behind the instrument cluster myself - I will try to do a deeper listen today though.

Im totally kidding here but just turn up the radio

My thoughts were the same as others, but maybe you can record the sounds and post here?

Others here that have been lucky to actually take delivery might be able to confirm it for you .

I want/need that quiet ride

I'm curious about a recording as well.

I hear things like whine from old-school CRT monitors that most people don't hear - at least I used to; they aren't around much any more and we all lose hearing as we age. Since I generally will have something on - radio, podcast, etc. - I suspect this would be limited to "first getting in" but it would still annoy me, I fear.

I fear it could be impossible to record.. as sometimes I hear a high pitch sound and if you turn your head different position you hear it more or less but can a recorder record a so high pitch sound?

Old computer monitors use to scream. Some light fixture have the same scream. No way a recording will pick it up. Most don’t hear that high of frequency. For those of us that do it is maddening. Hope mine doesn’t have it.
