I bought a JuiceBox 40 amp charger through Costco earlier this year. My car just arrived a week ago tonight, so I only have a bit of experience but am happy with it. The EVSE is on our wifi and has received several software updates in the past. I get alerts when charging is complete and an email from the vendor with details on charging - start, stop, kWH delivered, etc.

The only hesitation I have is that the Costco version has a shorter cord, but it is not a problem for me. Overall, very happy with this.

I would recommend looking for the "State of Charge" channel on YouTube. Tom reviews all the chargers and scores them. Highly recommended.

Search the forums using “FCCS”. Tons of info in here.
Mine workes flawlessly as far as charging is concerned. But like many others, it stopped logging charge data a couple months ago. Still no solution for that.

I'm very happy with the Gizzl-E charger. And it's a LOT less than the Ford charger.

Our family is in the same boat looking at charging options after ordering a Mach-E for our parents. Took them the longest time to decided between a Tesla (which, me and my brother have) or to branch out...they decided to branch out!

Our old installers (who Tesla recommended and they installed our chargers), asked us to consider the Tesla J1772 charger. The installation package with charger from them came to be about $1,100 - but this is before the 30% tax incentive, which comes out to be about $770 all-in. We are heavily leaning towards this option.

I'll let you know next week. Just had my electrician do a walk around. He is coming back on Monday to install the charger outdoors here in WI (I want guests to be able to charge as well) He needs to throw in a 60A circuit, run some conduit, and drill through some brick wall to make it happen. I'll hopefully be able to document all the details and write about it here next week. If I forget, just remind me.

Thanks for the welcome, my parents are quite excited by the Mach-E...they say they have "Tesla fatigue" because we're in SoCal.

The installer price is reasonable. We received 4 quotes and they were not the cheapest but the most reasonable and professional. It includes the Tesla charger, the 50 amp breaker, and some conduit. My parents recently upgraded their panel to accommodate 200 amp service so we're under no illusions that it's a straight forward job. But they'll also handle the rebate paperwork and permitting for our parents, which...saves some degree of sanity for us ? .

As others mentioned, there is a ton of info on the forum about various chargers, strongly recommend you look for those threads.

The Ford charger is a good one but it is also feature rich and expensive. I’d recommend you research those internet connected features and see if you care for them. If not, there are cheaper options available.

Also, see if your local utility offers any brand-specific rebates for certain chargers.

I got the Pulsar Plus from Wallbox it's a smart charger likely not needed for the Mustang but I figured it's a long term charger for future EV's too and it keeps track of usage and cost. It was $599. Very well made, small footprint, long cable and sturdy charger handle.

I have the Grizzl-E as well, great charger for speed, durability and weather resistance.

My FCCS had a couple of initial glitches (it was swapped out for a new unit) but after the software updates to version 1.2.2 it's been fine. It is the charger that I use most of the time.

ALSO in my garage is a ChargePoint Home Flex. That was installed because I had the capacity (I have a 2nd electric meter dedicated to EV charging and it's 125 amp service) and with rebates the ChargePoint was basically free (my utility offers a $500 rebate but only on ChargePoint and EnelX brand chargers ... so I went with ChargePoint). So I have both systems ... but mostly just use the FCCS.

I do really like the ChargePoint Home Flex ... and one feature I like about the CP that FCCS lacks is that it ties into my electric utility's rate plan ... so it shows me not just how many kW/h's I use ... but also what the sessions cost.

The FCCS logs my charge sessions and I can see how many kW/h's I've used ... but not what I pay for them. I'd have to carefully check if they were off-peak vs. on-peak utilization and work it out.

ChargePoint's holster and cord-hanger is integrated into the unit. Ford's is a separate holster/hanger. My chargers are both located close to the front wall of the garage (near the big doors) so that the cords would still reach even if I park in the driveway). But when parked in the garage ... the charge port on the car is nearer to the back wall. I mounted the FCCS's hanger/holster on the wall adjacent to the charge port on the car ... so it's slightly more convenient than the ChargePoint (but there are companies that sell stand-alone holsters ... so you could always pick up a spare and mount it in a better location).

Is your FCCS still logging your charge sessions? Several of us lost that capability a couple months ago.
