I’ve had some weird handshake issues between the Mach E and my GrizzlE which may or may not be related. When it happens, I get the solid green light too. For me, it happens when I end a charge session manually and unplug before the charge light stops blinking. The next time I plug in, the charge won’t initiate unless I unplug and plug back in. I don’t use a schedule, so it is less of an issue since I can see it happen immediately. Does yours start working if you unplug for a few seconds and plug back in?

Sometimes. Today I literally had to unplug and replug in my charger

Did you look at the pins on the car and make sure they are all straight? I had a charging issue with one of the small pins being bent and when I straightened it, the issue went away.

It works fine if I use L3 charging and L1 plugging into a 110volt

After deleting and then resetting the charging schedule and level for my car, it's honoring the charge window again. It was coincident with installing a new level of FordPass.

16 amps

I've got a 50amp breaker and the charger is hooked up to a 14-50 so perhaps I try to up this to 24 or 32? Not sure if that fixes the issue though
I was asking because some Mach’s were having charge port issues at high amps. 16 amps would not be an issue. It really sounds like a handshake issue between the car and the Grizzl-e and the Griz is the issue.

I had the same issue, I called Ford. The nice customer support folks in Dearborn, Michigan recommended deleting the location, start a new charging session, and adding the "new" location for that charging session.

Though it is a bit of a nuisance, this worked.

The opposite problem, really:

I had the Mach-Es HOME set to charge to 100% between 00.00 and 06.00 on weekdays and weekends, offpeak. Mach-E Select, LFP. That worked as it should, twice. Now when I plug in the car it starts charging immediately & ignores its own schedule - no destination charging or any other departure settings have been made. Only this one.

Fiddle, fiddle, fiddle … no change.

Anyways, I killed the Mach-E’s schedule & went back to setting this in the Wallbox. Now seems fine, but only by over-riding the car entirely. ‘Piss weak’ as they say.

PS
There is a vague note in the FordPass app which indicates that certain settings ‘may’ override the car’s HOME charging schedule (incl. departure settings & not used here);
US owners came back with this about the same problem:
“if the charging was calculated to take longer than the schedule settings …”

Still, no, would seem to be more than plenty of headroom there & especially having in error charged up by 20% at day rates.
Clearly there may be some other criteria applied, but we’ll need to guess.

If your car charges fine with the mobile charger then I believe there is an issue with your Grizzl-e and not the car.
If the melting and burnt smell software got installed it may be that it does not like 40 amp anymore and turning his Grizzle down to a really slow charge rate (32 amp) like the portable will have the same result as using the portable. There are dip switches for that. Again after software is installed on the car the charging does not work right and it has to be his charger that is the problem. The logic around here is truly amazing.

If the car calculates that the target charge level cannot be reached within your time restriction, it ignores the schedule. Reaching the target SoC has priority over the schedule.

Not saying there isn’t a bug with his car but if it works with one and not the other than it narrows things down. Good point on changing the charge speed on his Griz to rule it out as bad or the issue with charge amps.

Your’re right, thanks. This is exactly what happened.
