FYI - you can search this site for most US utility rates: https://apps.openei.org/IURDB/

I noticed the rates for my utility plan (Salt River Project EZ-3) were out of date.

Currently they pay me about $300 a year lol. I’m on the semi good solar NEM program, that’s gone now so in 18 years I’ll be back to paying ridiculous prices.
Peak rate would be 0.45-0.54/kWh, off peak 0.32/kWh. Stupid expensive.

23 cents per kWh before averaging in the flat/fixed monthly $16.99 user charge. So far this month, it has cost me $53 to charge the car (700 miles).

Here in Mass I pay $.25 kWh (includes delivery and supplier charges) . Mass does not offer any sort of peak/off-peak programs. Ridiculously expensive if you ask me, but still much cheaper than gas.

Is that National Grid? I'm from the area and would like to back in the next few years. Don't they push the rate up much more for 1/2 the year (winter rates)?

In SoCal I use a smaller municipal provider. I pa about 45/month in straight fees. Then a three tiered system (0.00/.10/.18) per kwh. But I was supposed to get a special rate for EV users in addition to a $500 rebate so I'll be calling on Monday. They just added a .10 cent surcharge due to rising costs so now I don't even know. I'm still waiting for my solar to get online so I can start getting credits. My wife works from home so she wastes a lot of electricity ?

Wow! I did not realize how expensive my electricity is in Southern California compared with the rest of the U.S. I have 25 solar panels so I am TOU, and specifically TOU for EV owners. I haven't paid an electric bill since December 2019 because I always have a credit. I have owned my Mustang since Nov 2022. We have winter and summer rates along with fees, etc. (@$15/mo.). We have SCE in Orange County.

Summer peak, 4-9pm: .66/kWh
Other hours: .26/kWh

Winter peak, 4-9pm: .60/kWh
Other hours: .23/ kWh

I try to charge during the day when I can since they only pay me .07/kWh. I might as well use my solar production to my benefit.
5 years after solar installation, (which will be next year for you) SCE will kick you off that plan and put you on a new one. The new one will negate all your cost savings from solar. I went from paying $1000 a year to over $4000 a year when SCE forced me off the solar TOU-A plan.

SE Michigan DTE plan EV Charger 1.9 requires a separate meter for EV.

I live in North Carolina

Off peak ($.08473/kWh)
on-peak rates ($.13/kWh)

Summer 3pm to 7pm is peak
Winter 6am to 10am is peak

I have grid-tied Solar (premium modules with 25/25/25 yr warranty) on my home, without batteries... so the cost of my electricity 'offset' is most fairly calculated as the amortized net cost of the system over the 25yr warrantied life of production.....

works out to about $.065/ kwhr, or less if life exceeds warranty which it probably will since the 'design life' of modules is closer to 40 years.

Here in SoCal there is a very elaborate system with SCE which includes delivery charges, tiers, “baseline allocations” which vary where you live, and then throw in summer and winter.

Last bill my average is .3627 per kWh.

in other words, a lot.

They have a TOU plan but the highest rates kick in during the hours you will be running the AC in your home so it doesn’t work.
Also in SoCal, but with SDGE. I'm on a TOU plan. Summer rates.

OnPeak (4pm-9pm): $.28 for delivery, .492 for generation ($.772 together)
OffPeak: .28 for delivery, .178 for generation (.458)
Super OffPeak(midnight to 6am): .056 for delivery, .072 for generation (12.8)
Plus about $54 in "programs" last month.

$.28 for normal delivery!!

Clearly, they are nurturing the EV market, but that won't last forever.

On the other hand, the county average price of a gallon of regular yesterday was $5.327.

Here in So Cal 66 cents / kw.
After all we are a sanctuary state and have many social obligations to pay for.
