All the speculation isn't going to answer the question. Contact Vroom, Carvana, and other brokers/resellers. They will give you a no-negotiation offer. Take that offer to the dealer and say, "beat this."

We sold our used car to Vroom in late 2021 for more than we paid in early 2019. The dealer offered less than we bought it for and were very condescending to us, "well, when Vroom try to cheat you, we'll still be here." Vroom then resold it for another $3k more than they paid us. And it was easier to deal with Vroom than it's ever been to deal with a dealer.

Yes, and thank everyone in this thread for valuable info. I would say theres only a 15-20% chance ill do anything at all, but, as with almost all decisions I make, I over analyze and figure out all my options.

If you want to add more analysis paralysis to your day, also look at the various used car listing sites and wonder you can get what people on those sites are asking.

We had a lot of Lookie-Lous at our car, but everybody wants to find the perfect deal when they're buying a used car right now.

Hah, ill pass on that, I have an offer from vroom and carvana is sending it to an analyst whatever that means. If the dealer wont match it, ill walk. If I decide to do anything at all. I kinda like having 3 vehicles and the ability to pay 10 dollars a month in "fuel" lol.

They will probably give you something in the 40s for the MME. Which will make you even or in the positive. Plus as long as you have had the MME for more than 6 mos I think you will still get the EV credit on taxes so you still come in ahead. THe MME are hot right now and dealers are willing to wheel and deal to try and get them so they can put ridiculous mark ups on them used or not. I actually think if you can find the right place you will probably have less of a loan on the other vehicles if given the correct trade in amount for your vehicles.

I had an offer from CarMax, I only had to drive 3 hours to their location... Make sure you know that too.

One of the reasons we decided on Vroom over the others is that Vroom sent a truck 2.5 hours each way to pick up the car. The offers were all similar.

If I remember correctly, they will tell you where to drop off your vehicle in the offer.

Funny, I ran it through Vroom, the MME is right at retail, woo hoo. The Pickup, they want to give me 37k, KBB says 45k for trade, 49k for private party lol.

You must have a very high-end pickup. My 2017 XLT with towing and 302A package was $37K out the door new and that’s what Vroom offered me last summer. KBB trade in shows $31K.

You use the website. They do the rest, if that includes a location you go to, they'll tell you. That's how I knew CarMax wanted me to drive across the state to Grand Rapids. No plate on the car, have to drive the other car to get home, ...

Ish, its a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 6.5 bed with the 6.2 engine. It has all the features of the denali except the driver display and entertainment screen for the back lol. when I got it, they had to do a dealer trade from 800 miles away as it was hard to find a non denali with the equipment (danali with the same equipment was, if I remember correctly, 4k more and all I would get is a fancy driver display, honeycomb grille and power running boards. the regular running boards are just fine thank you). It was also hard to find the Z71 package with heated seats. But they did it, and had it flat bed towed to the local dealer. I truely love the truck, and the mustang, but if given an ultimatum would have to keep the truck for reasons listed above. If the market werent crazy right now, and the dealer guaranteed to ask me for me to sell it to them again cause i have to go there tomorrow, this wouldnt even be a conversation to have.

Also, carvana offered 48k, so... something with vroom is off mathematically, probably the unbelievably low mileage. I cant help work is 7 minutes away and dad is 10, and that i worked from home 3 days a week before the pandemic lol.

You will have to go to Carmax for them to give you an offer. They don't have enough history to do it online. I just sold mine to Carmax last month with almost 10K miles and 6 months old. They made me an offer for $54K (Premium AWD ER). If you can buy the GMC at retail I would do that deal. I have a truck as a second vehicle sold my MME and have placed an order for a new MME GT (wasn't available when I ordered my previous MME). For the miles we drive it is a fabulous car.

I sold mine to Carmax last month as well (Prem, AWD, Ext. range, 700 miles) and got 55k for it. Also ended up getting a replacement from them, so didn't have to pay sales tax (might be a WA state thing). You will also still be able to claim the tax credit.

Vroom is good. You just need patience. The latest numbers I have seen from them is they are buying Mach E's at MSRP and selling for $3-4K over MSRP. Be prepared to wait 3-4 weeks for the transaction to be completed.
