It took some figuring out to enable Plug & Charge. It's only a 7 step process. So I figured maybe I'd share what I learned.

1. Log into my Ford.com account and click on My Ford Vehicles

2. Then click on Connected Services and walk through the process there (I've already done this so the screens won't match, but add your card info in here.)
Yeah it's a Ford Edge, LOL. This will start your free 250 kW trial and establish a default payment method.

3. Then log into the Ford Pass App and click on Vehicle (it may take time to update).

4. Click on Manage EV

5. Click on FordPass Charging Network

6. Click on Plug & Charge

7. Click the slider to enable.

I had difficulty connecting to FordPass charging network even after I followed instructions above. It didn't work, got an error message, "Oops, ..... " I called the number listed for help at Ford. After seven transfers to different people (departments) and one hour on the phone, I was told an engineer would look into it. After all that, I remembered a problem I had about 10 years ago connecting to an important work function. IT told me that the browser was the issue. I thought, maybe this was the issue.

I was trying Google Chrome to get onto Ford Pass Network, all popup blockers off, etc. Didn't work. I then switched to Microsft Edge. I logged onto Ford.com. Bingo, it worked first time.

I think Ford has some work to do to educate both dealership and helpline employees.

When my job installed a complicated new system for the whole enterprise, they took a number of employees for an intensive 2 week off sight training program. These individuals were then the instructors for the next level.

When I went to the dealership, I was the first to actually drive a Mache E off the lot. I don't think the person "training me" had ever driven one. Perhaps had he been given a vehicle to drive for a week or two, after whatever training he had, he would have understood all the bugs.

It is a fine vehicle, but if roll out has these issues, that will be a big negative.

Does activating this in the ford app give you discounted pricing?

No. It only turns on the Plug and Charge capabilities.

The rates are the standard guest rates for me. I don’t know if you were to have a EA membership if you would get the EA membership rates via P&C.

If there isn't a way to opt into membership while using P&C, I may revert to non P&C after the free allocation of charge. I don't plan on using a Level 3 charge until it's safe for me to make SF <-> LA trips.

Maybe this will be fixed by then? It feels too weird to have the feature and not allow subscriptions to happen.

So far I haven't been able to get the FordPass Charging Network activated. It seems it's payment related - I cannot set a default credit card. The card initially set as the default had expired so it wouldn't work. After deleting that card and trying to make another, that was already loaded in FordPass, the default it always errors out. I am also unable to add any additional cards.

Here's the screenshots from the process though, in case anyone cares:

Update: Finally got it activated. Managed to add another card to my "wallet" and set it as the default and was finally able to Confirm Activation.

Hmmm ... On the website, after signing in to my account and choosing the MME, I keep getting : NO CONNECTED SERVICES AVAILABLE

I took delivery two days ago and have the FordPass app connected, active and operating.

Any advice?

I'm in the same boat.

I was on the phone back and forth with Ford Customer Service and the FordPass Team for 4 hours, and in the end, all I got was "We can't help you"

Exact same issue here. 90 minutes on the phone with Ford yielded no answers or explanations.

Should escalate on twitter to Ford guys. Social media can influence company's responses. I would think Ford will be trying to help initial buyers resolve issues quickly. And I would say none these are unexpected issues - Ford should have been anticipating the issues. Early adopters should be prepared to have issues -I get it but things like website issues should be not occurring or there should be self help tools/posts made available by now. Ford has been delivering customer vehicles since Dec.

I got the same thing the day after I took delivery, then I tried it a couple days later and it worked.
