I’m curious if you guys have a sweet spot for top speed while on the highway? I’m not a eek out every bit of range guy, and I know my 22’s don’t help… but just curious how fast I can go while hitting over 3.0 on road trips

Speed and weather are the largest factors on range but your route matters too. If its a lot of uphill...its gonna be less. I do find over 70mph it drops pretty quickly though.

I gotta go like 60 to hit that with our long constant highways with westerly winds.

Even minor increases in elevation absolutely kill my range. Stay flat.

I found this on speed vs range.... it's for a Tesla 3 but the % change with speed aligns with what I see in the MME.

Speed really reduces range. As does wheel size, but that is a different story.

I really hate driving slow on road trips… when I had an ICE I would put my cruise control at 84 on a 70.. to drive up the i95 or turnpike… but the thought of going 70 on a 70 mph highway and seeing other cars fly by would upset me

One thing I started doing is turning 1 pedal driving off on highways. Its far less efficient on the highway.

In that case, I believe your goals are mutually exclusive. Ain’t nobody going 84 and getting good efficiency. Your ICE didn’t get good milage at 84MPH and neither will your BEV.

yea but going 84 in an ICE makes me get to where I’m going quicker Gad be damned.. but if I go to fast in my MME that would mean more 40m recharge stops

Aerodynamic drag increases with the square of speed. Faster simply equals less efficiency. The slower you go, the less fuel gets used per unit distance. If you need to go 84, you're going to get less efficiency than if you travel at 65. ??
