I found the weird gear shifter in the id4 to be awkward, but I'm sure it's easy enough to get used to. And the control screen had some of the quirks from my Tiguan... But those are also easy enough to get used to. It's a really good starter EV, so is the Nissan Leaf which doesn't get enough credit these days, despite it's longevity in the market.
I like the ID.4 shifter much better than the Mustang's - better location, and very intuitive: push forward to go forward, pull back to reverse, etc. Some other controls I never figured out, but you're no doubt right, you'd get used to it soon enough.

The Leaf has battery degradation and terrible resale value working against it. If the Bolt had better styling I might have gone that way. Styling and affordability is how the MME won the day with me. I'd love to get a Taycan but I can't stomach the price.

Do the ID4 commercials mention why it has no frunk? Just curious.:)

They’re too busy advertising building your custom Ford while highlighting every other model but the Mach-E. At least that’s what I’m seeing during tonight’s baseball game.

Agreed. Except Nissan is giving $10k off new Leafs (Leaves?), still get the $7.5k tax credit... Our "spare car" is a new Leaf SV Plus and regularly gets 250 miles out of a charge. But, before you all pile on, please note my new MME as our primary driver.

TBH, I wasn't taken with the Taycan for three times the price....

It's still pricy, but I believe you can get into a Taycan starting around $80k.

But who wants the base model? LOL Fully loaded or bust, baby!
I no longer buy cars for their mathematical resale value. I only live once (that I know of... But maybe we're in a matrix?) and what I drive today matters more than what it might be worth in 5 years.... Except for my VW Tiguan, which CarMax bought from me for only $6k less than I paid for it 3 years later (who said the car shortage wasn't a good thing?).

Most importantly, as I sit in my car, I ask myself "how do I *feel*?" And if I don't feel happy in it, then it's time to get rid of it. I know, totally Marie Kondo of me..... LOL

I have it on good authority that Ford is running with my Mach E vs Velociraptors spot. But this art doesn’t just make itself. Patience people.

The ID.4 isn’t selling, and the MME is—it’s that simple.

I was nearly certain the ID.4 would be my first EV, based on the pre-production images and announcement information. But then I eventually test drove one.

It was a great car in many ways, but just lacked too many details. No frunk, agonizingly slow infotainment system, sub-300 mile range, and vanilla looks.

Tesla would’ve been my choice, but a on-a-whim test drive of the MME changed all that.

Can’t wait for my premium to arrive!

Will report on the 2021 and if there's degradation Got my girlfriend an $81/month leaf due to beautiful NJ lack of taxes, which means 0 taxes on incentives. Total cost of the lease is mid 3k for an SV + Tech Package.

This is the lease broker I use, the leaf is going for a little over $150/mo now. More makes at the bottom of the G sheet. I usually get XC40's off him, then sold it during the car shortage to get the a Model Y... that changed though.

The final nail in the coffin of my Model Y reservation was the removal of radar from the Tesla AutoPilot. Someone on MDW in NJ couldn't get their new MY AutoPilot to activate, meanwhile I rode that little Leaf out to lancaster, PA on adaptive cruise and it was bliss and had zero issues. Mach-E hasn't either.

Not gonna lie if they go back to $81/month I'm getting one just to drive around. I've seen like 4 commercials in 2 weeks.

Maybe they'll go full out commercial wise when dealers have more than 5-8 in in stock, half customer cancellations and aren't treating them like frankincense and myrrh?

Beyer Ford had a bunch of mach-E premiums with 20' rims (clearly customer cancellations) but wanted 3k over sticker... Computer says no.

Cheap basic transportation definitely counts for something. Personally won't drive something that small that looks like that, but to each their own. Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder. ??

I've watched a lot of Top Gear UK and loved their challenges. So did one with her car before my Mach-E to Lancaster, PA. Almost made it, but without 3 camera cars and a backup crew with mechanic, so I had to roll into Denver, PA into a Tru Hotel with free ChargePoint charger. 25 miles away, 24 left. Got some coffee and carried on.

Not gonna lie, this little thing is slick. Almost 39k and doesn't have bicycle tires or cheap rims. I'm actually a bit impressed.

Finally, I had to take her car this weekend to the movies. I can barely make it out of a normal parking lot without 3-4 people asking questions.

Taking a Mach-E to the night of the F9 opening would've been a shitshow.

2021 Leaf, "not that bad" and at $81/mo... pretty... pretty good.

I'm not hatin. ? The new model looks a bit like the Bolt EUV, which I was considering before I saw the MME in person. I haven't seen a deal as good as yours on the Leaf advertised in AZ. I almost feel foolish spending $48.5 on an MME if I can get a Leaf for less than $200/month.

My lease broker thought i was joking when I told him to get me one too. I was not. LOL. If anything the instant torque of a tiny Leaf was what got me interested in an EV.

Got thousands for an XC40 lease and while an MY was on order, I wasn't a fan of radar being stripped for "Tesla Vision' aka let the MY and M3 owners test our dev app pushed to prod.
