I will keep updating this thread but the advisor was blown away I knew the code and confirmed it as well. I told him I would be calling BEV when he calls me for the diagnostic report and he said "that's what I was going to tell you to do"

I will keep updating this as I learn more. He said it would be about two weeks. Thanks for the guidance.

wanted to add in that this was a pretty scary experience. 70mph on a major SoCal freeway with a jolt and loss of power. Glad I was able to get over.
Was it the grapevine?

So that software “update” for it is just a much of BS? It said it was suppose to allow you To still limp to a dealer. Seems like it just dies.
In most cases people are getting SVS and not SSN as he did in this case. Sucks either way obviously but at least you can still drive when you get the SVS alarm.

I got both SVS and SSN at the same time today. No previous alerts while driving or on the app even though Lee found the code first hit on 8/14

May I suggest that you also report this to the NHTSA? This is a legitimate safety concern and they should know that yet another one has happened while driving.

I’m very sorry this happened to you. And I must say since I just completed one Grapevine run (though not in less than 12 parsecs?), and have two more planned in a week, I’m getting more and more concerned about this issue.

@Ford Motor Company, are you folks paying attention?

That is why I said most and not all. Software is supposed to detect potential failure and then limit power to prevent full complete failure. Obviously it does not work in all cases. Glad you could get safely off the road.

Damn, and I know you drive ever so carefully these days too.

LOL yeah, I got into the habit of driving like granny. I have had to make a conscious effort to mash it. ?‍♂?
