What level of FordPass functionality do you have without PaaK? Do any/all of the remote functions work? Can you set departure times? SecuriAlert?
I have not found any FordPass functions that do not work: Lock, Unlock, Start, etc. I still manage charging times and SecuriAlert is available but I don't use it. Everything else is there. The only thing that is strange is that I get "Unable to Locate" but on the Map it is fine. That happened after either the 1.14 or 1.16 update and I don't think it has anything to do with PAAK being on or off.

While PAAK has never come close to stranding me, I’m aware of things like the OP’s problem. I
Also always have a fob (one of two) in a faraday bag tucked away in a not particularly obvious cubbyhole. PAAK works for me virtually always, but I don’t trust it.
So if it's "tucked away in a not particularly obvious cubbyhole" I'm hoping it's not inside the car because if the car is locked it doesn't do any good.

Use the factory door code to enter. Use the hidden fob to drive off. I don't see the problem. ??

Picked up my car from the dealer yesterday after the PAAK update. Tonight, my wife needs to run an errand, and since I was parked behind her, she took the MME. No problem! PAAK update installed! I’m typing this from the parking lot I had to drive across town to with my three year old to pick up my stranded wife. FORD, if you read this board, send your owners a second key, because this bullshit doesn’t cut it.
I would suggest she open the back passenger door to open the front door that works for me most of the time.

I have mine in a Faraday fob bag it blocks the signal and I leave in hidden in the car. That way I could use code to get in and have the FOB available as a emergency backup. Its embarrassing to have to do that but PAAK is so bad I don't want to get stranded.

Had PAAK fail on me for the first time today. Odd part, the car woke up, and unlocked the doors so I could get in. Then when I went to turn on the car “no key detected”. Closed/opened ford pass turned off/on Bluetooth no luck. Had to start the car with the password.

Factory door codes work.
Just taken notes where I can find all these mach-e's with a fob inside ;). Mine is in a faraday bag in my pocket or my fanny (man) pack ?. My wife has a purse. Too easy not to have it and after over 6 months I still see no reason to leave home without it. Never needed it but it is a backup plan and you know the rule as soon as you do not have it. The server wipes paak and startcodes and I phone my wife to get the factory passcode so I can sit in it.

You took the phone out and put it on the charging mat and still no go? Weird. I get no key but it always clicks in the second time I start it. Also no key sometimes when I shut it down also with a start now or never message.

she could get in the car. The issue was it said “key not detected” when she attempted to drive

Sitting right now at a restaurant waiting for an Uber because my fordpass app keeps crashing and paak not working. Keypad number to get in not working. Paak is garbage!

I find Paak useless and only use the FOB and even that seems to be flaky.

If Ford was nice they would ship everyone a 2nd FOB to make up for their Paak failures.

What amazes me is all the ways PAAK fails for both me and various users. Have never seen an electronic/computer system with such a collection of failure modes. I have worked in the computer/ semiconductor industry for 50 years and have never seen such a flaky system with soo many different failure modes. Thinking about getting a third fob so I can program it.

What fob issues have you had? PaaK and FordPass have failed me but the fob has been rock solid.
