I was told yesterday the wait is 24 weeks. Seriously?

I traded in my 2016 Focus RS on my Mach-E GTPE a couple of weeks ago. They're selling it for $42,900 (includes Ford RS snow wheels and Michelin Alpin snow tires). The RS has 31,000 miles on it. That's $1,000 more than I paid for it new...
I'm being offered 22000 for my 2016 focus st with 36k. I paid 24. Can't believe it. That's an unbelievable deal you got!

I don’t really get the people waiting for months to get their orders - unless they’re not in a big rush to plunk down the cash.
I can't respond for everyone, but for me I wanted a specific GT-PE configuration. I don't want to wait, but I'm pretty sure that I'm in the minority of how I want the car configured. So that leaves me with a wait. I'm OK with that. Well, ambivalent might be a better word...

I (or my significant other) have contacted about every dealer in a 150 mile radius. I think we are at 11 now. At least where I am (central NC) the "advertised" cars end up being what some dealers have referred to as "mannequins", meaning the ads/cars are there for sales leads vs. sales. Maybe this is regional phenomenon?
Where are you looking? ford.com or on the dealer sites themselves? What I did was get the vin off the ford site and then use the tracker here on the forum to see when it was expected in etc before even reaching out to the dealer. I didn't run into any mannequins but most of the cars are still in transit and the dealer would allow you to put a $500 deposit down to "reserve" the car. Once it had a deposit most dealers were taking them off of fords website. Extended Ranges are nonexistent for dealer stocking orders around here...

I think that is what the dealer is selling his car for, not what he got.

This place shows 5 online, but I assume you already checked them out.

I’m trying to time my order of a GT to coincide with the end of my current vehicle’s lease. My lease ends in 36 weeks and the Ford website lists the current wait time on a GT at 28+ weeks. I’m trying to balance having 2 cars versus not having a car in February (or renting something while I wait for my GT). It’s hard to gauge, but my sense is to place an order in the next few weeks.

Hmmm.... 28 weeks... I take the over. Good luck.

It is possible things have changed, but it wasn’t hard a few months ago to cut the line by buying a cancelled order off the lot. Even at MSRP or x-plan, and even most desired configurations if you were willing to expand your search radius.

Exactly. I was lucky enough to have a few Mach Es coming into my area and today I picked one up using XPlan. The wait would be very, very long otherwise.

I tried this with not having to renew the registration on my old car and missed by ~2 weeks so I am carless until my Mach-E comes in. I know it's sitting on a ramp super close by I just need it to get delivered now!!!
