12 V. battery status icon.. dead 12 V. routine is a pain in the rear.. Love the car.. WW
yup, that's a good one.... either a little 12v battery green=ok, red=not ok, or actual volts.
BTW, this voltage, as well as the HV pack voltage can be displayed by CarScanner via OBD2 data on your phone right now.... it would just be nice to have the options to turn various sensor displays on/off to see the info directly.

The CarScanner can also display various temperatures (outside, cabin, battery, and motor)

I’m wondering if we are all trying to make this battery efficiency, battery charge, range thing way too complicated. On internal combustion engine cars, you have a gas gauge that shows how full or empty your tank is, an an idiot light if you get too close to E. If you’re REALLY curious, you can dig around in menus to see average and instantaneous MPG. Perhaps they should just make the battery gauge prominent, and divided into quarters (with percent beneath) and turn the percent yellow at 20%, and turn the entire gauge RED at 10% or something. Make all of the other more esoteric data (like average energy use, instantaneous energy use, energy use graphs, F stock price, etc) available on user customizable menus. Oh, and if the car is getting close to being “out of range” of known chargers, begin highlighting those chargers on the nav screen and suggest that the driver stop and feed the pony some electrons (a good case for an integrated nav system).

Ah, brake coach is not available in all drive modes you say? That would explain why I've been feeling the feature was playing hide and seek with me. Does it only show up in Engage?
Yes. The brake coach is only available in Engage.

The range guess-o-meter I think helps people get over range anxiety a bit.... I find it 'interesting', but not as interesting as actual live data a driver (may) want to be aware of.

Hence my focus on the flexibility of displaying whichever gauge(s) you WANT.... and hiding the rest if you don't want.

well, actually, ICE vehicles do commonly have instantaneous fuel economy displays now a days. I had a neat little MPG efficiency gauge on my 2009 Mustang that I used to watch all the time.

" add display of actual kW power in/out, 'always on', so driver can see regen/output power and verify actual charge power while charging "

I don't understand how more people don't care as much about this. This is probably just as important as PaaK for me. Ford if you see this, fix this in the next update, dont' wait for like 2 more updates.

1. add display of actual kW power in/out, 'always on', so driver can see regen/output power and verify actual charge power while charging. Suggested location for display might be just above or below current display of 'Estimated Range'. I think we would all appreciate verification of the charge rate and it is very informative to see regen/output power consumed with 1-p driving....
I'm pretty obsessed with my Route 1, so most complaints I've had about this car are crazy nitpicky:

PaaK makes me sometimes hit the start button TWICE!
If I open the passenger door first to put in my laptop bag, the driver door sometimes makes me press it twice when using PaaK!
Every EA session has been FREE cuz I can't get plug and charge to work!

But the one thing that does bug me, mainly because my Energi had it years ago, is the lack of instant energy use, as you stated. I could call it borderline nitpicky since I just obsessively monitor my current trip display to see how I'm doing in order to make up for it. But this is literally my number 1 desired change in the car. Glad to see others feel the same, since I've been an MPG nut since my 2001 Accord, and often feel like I'm crazy lol

I'm really surprised the display isn't more customizable. I thought the ICE Mustang IPC had a lot of user selectable options, but it's been a few weeks since I had one as a rental. I know the Dodge Challenger I had last week had numerous display options that could be set using the steering wheel controls to scroll through the menus.

kW in and out should be a no brainer.

My Chevy Bolt has a better display in front of the driver. Just steal a few ideas from that (range with multiple numbers, kW in/out, etc.).

The display should also have a few options, from show me tons of crap to show me virtually nothing other than speed and battery.

All of which was available on the Focus Electric so it isn't like Ford hasn't done this before.

Yeah, but like all software engineers they decided to redesign the UI from scratch rather than start from what previous projects did....

I still want an analog speed display... reading numbers is annoying since i have to actually process the number and convert it to a "am i going the speed i want to be?" instead of just seeing where a needle is in my peripheral vision. maybe that's just my age showing... i'm over 27.
Still waiting for my Mach e to arrive….

Does the display show your current speed as well as the speed limit for that road?

It could have been a perverted form of NIH*.

* NIH = Not Invented Here. e.g. the Ford team that did the Mach-E wasn't the Ford team that did the other plugins (Focus Electric, and Energi vehicles since they all used the same UI on the dash) Of course I have no evidence of this either way.

Yes, it displays the current speed in large numbers and the speed limit in a faux black and white speed sign. It uses the camera to detect the sign, so it will even update in parking lots and the like (my kid's school has a "10 mph" sign near the parking lot entrance and a "5 mph" sign further in and the display updates as I pass them).

Here's a random picture from the Internet:

I think they wanted to keep it simple as to not intimidate ICE driving folks. I understand a lot of the want for all these displays but to Joe and Jane six pack it may make them do a double take on EV living. Maybe a 4th drive mode, "GEEK".
