LOL, I just get the readiness from the PRND display, if visible the Mach-E is on.
As for the switch, what colors/modes does the light do? (I thought it was just lit/green or unlit)

Just Green. LED is off when car is OFF, flashing green when in ACC mode and solid green with ON. Also when you get in the car, as soon as you press the brake pedal, the green light comes on solid for you to push the switch. It does this so you can find it easier in the dark. It will be the only light on in the interior if you have your dome lights set to off.

just wanted to bring back that feature, like I did with the second liftgate switch
Hmm, and here I thought only cats and hairless apes were obsessive. Wait, you're not a cat in a hunting poodle costume are you? Well done!

Thanks for the info, 3rd car with this type of ignition, never paid any attention to the switch lights (or lack) :D

The PRND display is on in both ACC and ON modes, for '21-'24. Maybe it is different in your '25 that it is on only in the ON mode?

Maybe I'm to blame for them removing it...

Now, I'll have to check...

It does disply, but there is this big message over it (alternating with another along the lines of "Press Brake To Start") The location of the message overpowers the PRND in the 2025 when in Accessory. One thing different from the ICE ones, is that there is OFF, ACCessory, ON
as opposed to OFF, ACCessory, RUN, Start
I do love the ability to just hit the switch to OFF without needing to put it in Park 1st (although I typically hit the Park button 1st, out of habit)..
Also noticed, in my driving position, that the steering wheel rim totally eclipses the Start button, so not sure how useful the indicator would be to me.

This would have been better:

They all (years) have a ready light that comes on. Steve and I still like the Green LED. 😊
I'm like that, too... Now that I know about that missing light, it's going on my list:
Active Park Assist, Hands-free Lift Gate, Lit Start Stop Button.
Oh, and the ____X on the doors...

I do have the Liftgate Button, thanks to you and the forum... 😁

Are we still allowed to call it an "ignition switch" in an EV, where nothing is ignited?

Ford calls it an Ignition Switch in all the repair manuals, parts list and on the actual package the part comes in so that is what I call it.

I call the accelerator a gas pedal, and the motor an engine (which I think is technically correct), but have gotten lectured by EV purists on both labels.

I had never thought about ignition before Huntingpudel mentioned it, but I imagine the purists would not like that either.
