Had an odd one today. It was 70° and sunny outside and my car was parked in the driveway so I remote started it to cool I down.
When I got in the car was hot and the car was blowing hot air. I turned the car on and the seat heater and the heated wheel was on. I noticed the outside temp read 49°, which obviously was wrong. I started driving thinking maybe it just needed to update the outside temp, but after a minute of driving with hot air blowing on me I manually went into the climate settings and turned it to LO and cranked the fan. At that point cold air started coming out, so I knew it wasn’t an issue with the AC.
After driving for about 2 minutes the outside temp finally started updating and quickly shot up from 49° to the correct temp of 70°. At that point I put the climate back in Auto and it was as behaving normal and blowing cold air.
From the looks of it, it thought it was much colder out than it actually was and was adjusting the climate to match that.
I don’t know if this had anything to do with the 4.2.5 HVAC update or if it was just a fluke. Anyone else have this happen?
