Instrument Cluster going black, rebooting, repeat

Curious if anyone else has had this issue. Started my drive the other day and after about 5 minutes the HUD / instrument cluster went black, after a minute or two came back on, then went out again over and over again for the remainder of the 20 min drive. It also ended up throwing codes in the Fordpass app for Anti-lock breaking system fault (because of the fault ABS was disabled) and Restraint Indicator System. Was a little annoying since I had no speedometer most of the trip.

To be clear, the center screen worked fine during all of this (which I've had intermittent freezing and reboots). It also shouldn't be a heat issue since I use a windshield sun screen, had the windows cracked, and live in the PNW...

I had a similar experience, but it was related to a specific spot and Waze navigation. The screen rebooted a few times but then worked correctly. Also, there were no error codes.

I have not had this happen bit I had my center screen freeze, black out, and restart during a drive a few days ago.

Never had that happen, a couple of things you could do are a sync reset, but that’s likely not the issue, you could remove the beauty covers along the frunk and detach the LVB (up to 1:39 here) and then disconnect battery terminals for 10-20 minutes. Or, just bring it to the dealership.

I have had that same problem numerous times. When I had 2021 Mach E in for its 30,000 mile check up I mentioned it to the service advisor. The tech could not find any codes and of course could not duplicate the problem.??‍

No backup camera this morning - the whole Sync screen was black. I turned the motor off and restarted and the screen reappeared. Amazing how much I’ve come to depend on that camera to back out of our garage! Only car we own with cameras and I really love the backup for parking and the cross traffic alerts.

I have had the center screen go dark (like most people) or freeze up when I start the car but it usually comes back on its own. First time with the instrument cluster though...

Honestly? If disconnecting the LVB doesn’t work, I would start pulling and checking fuses.

Yes! I had the same issue on May 1st and opened a ticket with Ford customer service team. If your car ends up with a dealer then they will at least get you a rental.

Use Waze on phone when driving so you can see the speed ?.

Just a follow up on this issue. I had it happen three times in the past two weeks so I took it into the dealer. I had a video of it happening this time as well as a screenshot of the notification messages coming through the app.

Tech says he drove it twice during the day and couldn't reproduce the issue. He also said none of the codes that popped up in the app stored in the car so they can't look into that either. Still at the dealership today since he was going to call Ford Corporate techs to troubleshoot with him on the phone to see what advice they can give.
