My fathers Saleen had an odor problem because he also kept garbage in the garage because of the bears. I have an ozone generator and that helped both the garage and Saleen. For the car I put the generator in it and ran the A/C. Not sure if this will help in your situation or not. I would caution you that she might also not like the smell after the ozone generator. It’s got a chlorine smell kind of like an indoor pool.

I have an ozone generator used for cleaning a CPAP and find that smell very nauseating. I would try putting 3 open boxes of baking soda in a pot before doing the ozone. I’ve heard that Ozone can be suffocating without proper ventilation.

My daughter claims that whenever she rides in our MME (MY 22 GT) she gets nauseated. I've had it now for over a year, so this is not "new car smell".

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced similar? Is the material that odoriferous?
I never had a problem with how the MME smelled from the factory, but both my elementary school aged kids said they didn't like the smell and didn't feel good after riding in it. But I have a feeling that might be because of how the MME rides, like some of the other comments. I got a stick air freshener that clips on to the vent (which I normally don't like to do) and the kids have been fine since then.

Do you have the propulsion sound (aka "engine noise") enabled or disabled? Personally, having it on actually fixed my motion sickness issues while driving. My wife still feels some, and I've attributed it to the acceleration + stiffer ride than she's used to, so have to tone it way back :p

My puppy had the same problem. This is what I used:

Definitely try switching drive modes when others are in the car (anything but unbridle). It could just be motion sickness from the harshness of the ride + constant stopping and going.
If you are driving in 1PD in Unbridled, then likely that's the problem. It is very very sensitive to miniscule throttle inputs - both up and down - that can promote motion sickness. I can cause myself to get motion sickness in 1PD Unbridled in less than a mile of semi spirited driving. First step - turn off 1PD, that's the biggest offender. Then drop to Engaged, that feels enough like a normal ICE that it is usually ok.

Side note: I've heard complaints from Uber passengers in SF about this. Apparently, there has been a flood of new EV drivers hitting the Uber fleets there, and 1PD driving takes some practice to be as smooth as a "normal" car.

And remember that motion sickness is always worse as a passenger because as a driver, your brain can prepare for those motions.

I have noticed the fairly strong plastic smell that seems to build up over night. Lots of plastics and fake leathers can "off gas" for quite a while. She may be picking up on this. For what it's worth, I noticed that start to go away after a year or so. It might not be an issue soon. Keeping the windows down or cracked also helps a lot to prevent fume build-up.

EDIT: I do remember the smell becoming very strong after the panoramic roof and windshield recall. It could also be volatile odors from the adhesives being used. Again those tend to fade after a while.

I am curious about the scores on "How is your driving?" in the "Trip Energy" which shows your driving Acceleration, Deceleration, and Speed.

More aggressive acceleration and deceleration will show lower % score. Try Driving very calmly to get 97% or more, curious if she gets less nauseated?

It could be the methanol from the Ford Motorcraft washer fluid. Methanol is a de-icer and does produce a unique odor.

Doesn't seem to matter - she's often in the front seat but she complains either way.

We've been running the AC but honestly I can't detect any malodorous effects. Certainly doesn't smell moldy or anything. She describes it as a plastic smell, so I'm wondering if it's the seat material itself.
Is this the only car she gets sick in?

Both myself and my daughter are affected by motion sickness (doesnt matter what car we are in) as a passenger and is less noticeable in the front passenger seat.
I have been that way all my life and is a result of the visual response to movement outside the vehicle and the result is similar to vertigo which I am prone to as well.
As long as I am driving and concentrating on driving I am ok, the same as being a passenger in the front, I am able to concentrate on the road ahead versus sitting in the back and watching the scenery pass by quickly in my periferal vision which leads to nausea and light headedness within minutes.

Ignoring the possibility of any teen daughter having to sit in any car with her father might cause similar compaints of illness... (I never experienced this ;-))

THE weird smell I've noticed is the ultra-industrial windshield washer fluid. It is now starting to fade after several refills with normal fluid.

Passengers experiencing motion sickness in MMEs exclusively seem to be reported frequently here. I'd try driving without 1PD and not in Unbridled Mode- both seem to cause more jerky motion noticed more by people not driving.

Good luck, I hope the problem is one of the latter options here.
My wife hates unbridled. Says there is too much motion. Loves engaged. I’m
