I've had my Pixel 10 Pro for just under a week and I can't get wireless charging to work in my Mach-E (2021, job 1) for more than 10-15 seconds or so. I've moved it around in every orientation I could, but the results are the same. Wireless charging starts, then stops after 10-15 seconds, then randomly starts charging again for another 10-15, rinse and repeat. For context, I'm going raw dog ;) (no skin, no case, no Qi2 accessories). I even went as far as removing the rubber pad that sits over the wireless charger to see if it made a difference, it didn't.

I assume the issue is with the wireless charger in the car, I don't have this issue with any of my standalone wireless chargers (non-Qi2). Looking for feedback from anyone else with a Pixel 10 Pro. If you reply with feedback, please let me know what year your Mach-E is and if you're using the Pro or Pro XL.

Phone make and model don't much matter. Pretty much any phone with a camera bump seems to make the wireless charger built into the MME a very finicky piece of equipment. My old iPhone X charged just fine, but going to an iPhone 14 Pro gave me the same behavior you have. Some have put an aftermarket pad or puck in the tray. I've attached a laptop MagSafe charge arm to the center screen. 🤷‍♂️🐩

The wireless charging pad sucks in our cars. Doesn't matter which phone you use. When it does work it will overheat. I installed a magsafe one by Lisen works like a charm.

For troubleshooting purposes, I wanted to get feedback on the specific phone, mainly to ensure what I'm experiencing isn't a hardware issue on a new phone. My prior phone was a Pixel 7 Pro, which also had a visor style camera bar, no wireless charging issues. To your point I think, you're probably right. I just want to crowd source this a bit to make sure my issue isn't isolated just to my phone, so I can exchange/return it during the return window.

I switched from iPhone 11 to iPhone 16 and the wireless charging went all finicky on me. I hate it.

My new Pixel 10 Pro XL is arriving today so I'll let you know in a day or two. I have low expectations since my current phone is a Pixel 6 Pro and it would not charge properly on the stock charging mat. It would only succeed in making the phone very hot and actually losing charge, especially when using Android Auto nav. I gave up on wireless charging and now just plug it in.
Will advise...

I have a Pixel 9 that charges just fine (rhyme intended).

There is a software update your dealer can perform that may help your wireless charger. Just tell them you want the software update for your wireless phone charger (WACM module).

Regarding the Qi charging circuitry technology in the car, is there a difference between between the original Qi and the newer Qi2 ? The OP and I both have 2021 cars but these new phones have the new Qi2 capability.

As stated a lot of modern phones just aren't great when it comes to flat wireless charging. I had a new Rivian and an iPhone (with a big camera hump) and that thing NEVER worked. I prefer using 3rd party chargers now (especially MagSafe with my iPhone).

To be certified Qi2, a device must be backward compatible with Qi 1.3. There may or may not be issues with a Qi 1.2 charge plate and Q1 1.3 or newer devices. Qi 1.3 and newer charge plates should be fine with Qi 1.2 devices. 🤔🐩

I have had the Pixel 6 Pro and the Pixel 8 Pro and they both worked when I turned the phone upside down on the charging mat. The issue is that it charges so slowly that it's practically useless so i just use the USB-C.

I'd guess that the magnets in the Pixel 10 series aren't playing well with the crap charger in the Mach-E. I've never used it since it does nothing but overheat any phone I've placed there.

Now that you have magsafe-style magnets you could get the Twraps magsafe charging pad that should work much better.

I went from a P8 to a P10 Pro. Both phones overheat and do what you are describing after a 5 or 10 minutes. I have had it charge decently well one time, but I think i wasn't using navigation. It is worthless. It's worse than worthless- it's cooking my phone.

Thanks for pointing that product out, it's a bit on the pricey side, but looks to do the job perfectly and cleanly.
