I have this issue but only when I tap the CarPlay tile. If I tap the CarPlay icon on top it goes back to where you were before. That has been happening way before I loaded beta 17.

it happened when an update occurred months and months ago.
Yes, it's been a good while, so I couldn't remember exactly when that behavior began. I'll try using just the top button. Thanks for that tip.

iphone 14 pro max, ios 17 (beta). GPS issues all the way through.
On new cell provider at same time so not sure if its that, the phone or ios 17.
Can't seem to get the maps version or carplay to keep the phone running in background so will keep looking. If i turn phone on it comes right again.

Good point - I'll flip the Beta switch back on

I will also be road tripping to Montreal this week-end so I'll try out the fancy new charger enhancements they made to Maps :)
Just a heads up that those EV improvements to Apple Maps in iOS 17 in terms of showing realtime availability at each charger is US-only at the moment. So we don’t get that particular feature for realtime availability yet in Canada unfortunately.

Only issue I have had is it seems to sometimes drop the wireless carplay connection, it reconnects shortly after but never had that issue before

One think that I've noticed is that my phone seems to always be connecting wirelessly to CarPlay, even when I plug in - and even if I plug in before starting the car. If I unplug the cable, CarPlay continues uninterrupted. Before, unplugging the cable would end the connection.

Yeah you can tell if it’s wireless if you see the battery icon. If you prefer to use wired it would be a TREMENDOUS value add if you could use it for a couple days and listen closely to hear if you get any random clipping. I’m starting to narrow it down but it’s definitely not my phone or the cable since I’ve switched both.

I've had a few ghost machines after the update but honestly there are no more bugs then they're normally are with CarPlay and the SYNC 4/system

Good to know - my plans suddenly changed radically and I needed to take the ICE for the trip, but thanks for the info!

Has anyone had problems with Google Maps not working unless you open it on the phone? That's the only issue I've had since upgrading to iOS 17. I have a iPhone 14

I installed it yesterday and tried out CarPlay nav. It worked fine, except that I did notice some static in the voice at times. I had never had that happen before. The driver display directions worked fine for me, some others had reported issues with that on another thread, based on the beta.
I got static as well

I did get a wired connection this morning, after cleaning out the charging port on my phone. I didn’t notice any issues.

This is not new with iOS 17 but I still have major issues with navigation whenever on wireless CarPlay. ie Delays, wrong location, etc.

I pretty much always plug in as a result.

Had it on the 14 Pro and now the 15 Pro so I don’t know what’s up.

Yesterday it failed me for the first time. 15proMax (the only thing I didn't do is optimize the key for the location services junk) went to my garage hopped in (put my foot on the brake only, dind't push the power button), the radio, well it just started playing as I was sitting down, the power button showed the car was running (solid) but it wasn't. This video taken after a minute of me flopping around trying to figure out what was actually happening. Pushed the power button "no key detected". Went and got my fob and the center screen took about 2 minutes to do something other than spinwheel (whatever you want to call the loading spiny thing)

One odd issue: after installing iOS 17, I've noticed that when using Apple Maps for directions, the display behind the steering wheel has twice been confused about what road I needed to turn onto next. It correctly displayed the distance to the next turn, but everything below that was wrong. It eventually corrected itself, so I paid it little attention.
Yes, I have the same problem, is very annoying. Sometimes the display is right and sometimes don’t, but if you need to add a stop to your route…. The route will be messed in the dashboard.

Maps kinda sucks for me. And the phone is sitting on a magsafe charger exactly where my 12pro always did. I noticed the map just drift around at will and lose complete idea of where I was at a light after just sitting there for a couple minutes.
