Mine was apparently delivered today - will know once I get home this evening.
Let me know what you end up doing. I was contemplating cutting out a circle in the mat, but realized that I wouldn't do it nearly enough justice to make it look good... That and routing the cable underneath the mat would impact the ability for it to sit flush.

This is crazy, ( I’m the OP) but for some reason yesterday the wireless charger just started working perfectly with my 12 Pro Max with clear plastic Magsafe case. Didn’t do anything, change anything, etc. Just started working and kept charging while driving. Not sure if the charge will keep up with the drain from wireless Carplay but I’ll take it!

Did you receive an OTA update?

Over been having the same issue on a Pixel 5, no case. Also I was sitting in my car for 40 minutes with my phone charging. I was working fine for a few minutes then it just stops. Zero movement in the car during that whole time. I picked up the phone after it stopped and tried to reposition it. It worked for a few minutes again, then stopped.

Whatever the problem is I'm fairly certain it's not my phone. I wireless charge my phone everyday and have no issues. I'm going to try the same thing with a Galaxy S10e and an iPhone 10 and will report back on the results.

My iPhone 12 Pro has always flawlessly worked in my Mach-E. Two months in now and not a single failure beyond operator error (yes, I can manage to put the phone upside down). I have an Apple Silicone magsafe case on it. If it does not work for you, something is wrong.

I tested my Galaxy S10e for about 30 minutes, no issues. Tested the iPhone 10 for about 15 minutes no issues. Went back to the Pixel 5, charged for about 12 minutes, then stopped. It had a hard time starting again even after picking it up and reseating it in the same spot.

Something I did notice is the Pixel 5 running Android Auto gets pretty warm, the wireless charging also causes the phone to get warm. I suspect the issue might be the phone disabling the charging due to heat. I'll have to do more testing after I disable Android Auto to see if charging stops again after a period of time. For iPhone users, if your phone is getting warm using wireless charging and CarPlay that might be the culprit as well.

Just wanted to report back in. I’m not sure what the early difficulty was for me.... even before my car received the OTA update it started working and has remained working without any difficulties. I’ll take it!

Anyone else have problems with Android Auto and wireless charging? On a roadtrip using Android Auto for navigation and at some point, the wireless charging disconnected and the battery on the phone tanked pretty quick. I'm guessing that for longer drives, a wired connection is going to be a better option?

I tested this again using my Pixel 5 and 3rd party wireless charger plugged into the USB port. The end result was the same. The phone charged wirelessly for about 12-15 minutes then stopped just like the integrated charger. Ultimately the issue is related to heat. Using Android Auto and wireless charging is the perfect storm for the phone to disable wireless charging. The temperature threshold would probably vary by phone.

As others have pointed out, the wireless charge rate is pretty low, so my battery continued to drain even when it was actually wirelessly charging, but it did drain slower than it would otherwise. If my phone isn't on the wireless charger, and Android Auto is running, I lose about 10% battery every 30 minutes. I don't expect you'd have any issues if you use the wired connection for longer drives.

I don't have a problem with it stopping it just slowly drains. My Pixel 4 just uses more power than its able to get while charging wirelessly. I've verified using AccuBattery.
