I’ve seen the ads for screen protectors suggesting you’ll end up with fine scratches on the glass screen from cleaning. Is this actually a problem? Anyone who’s watched a JerryRigEverything video knows that glass scratches around a level 6 on the scale of hardness. No way that’s going to happen with a microfiber. I’d rather occasionally wipe off the prints than have a protector on there. Just curious what other people’s opinions are.

Necessary? Absolutely not. Some people like them for glare reduction. Unless you are doing something crazy I don't see scratching as a concern. I've never put one on my cell phones/tablets either. My kid's devices, that's a different story. ?

incredibly unnecessary. my screen is so smudged but when it's on you can't see anything, it's quite bright. if i stare at my screen when it's off i'd be eager to clean it, but the fact is when the screen is off i'm not in the car haha

you can judge for yourself how likely you are to scratch it, depends who/what you transport in the passenger seat probably...

Totally not necessary from a scratch standpoint but I have a matte one that keeps fingerprints from obfuscating the display. To each his or her own. ??

The anti-glare and help with not having fingerprints is really worth it. When I sold my Premium MME and got this GTPE, the GTPE didn't have the screen protector for a few days and holy cow, I was wiping it down nonstop with my microfiber towel since it shows fingerprints so easily. I've had my screen protector on for a year and it still looks amazing. Totally worth it!

My sentiments as well. I add glare reduction in with the matte screen too. YMMV.

For those just coming to the MME, drive it without one for awhile and see what you think, they’re easy to come by, easy to install and easy to uninstall.

I have a glossy screen protector that claims to be "fingerprint resistant." I think it's a fair claim, as I haven't cleaned this since installing it two months ago.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Is a screen protector really necessary? screenprot

As you can see, it's highly reflective at an angle but that hasn't been a problem in use from my driving position.

Exactly what I did. I drove it a while and found I did not like all the smudges and the glare. Then I screwed up my first install because a piece of dust got under it (I had the windows down), so I bought a second @AOSK screen protector. Old one was super-easy to remove. ??

? I have the anti-glare and anti-fingerprint on both screens. The screens are like a big mirror without it. I’ve had these products on for almost two years now and don’t regret it one bit!!

Not necessary in my opinion. Glossy ones will catch fingerprints. Matte ones won't but I never liked the chalky matte look. You don't interact much with the screen like you do with your phones and I don't even have a screen guard on my phone so idk.

And who says that a good portion of Mach-E owners aren't OCD... ?

I purchased a good quality screen protector made from glass. The matte finish eliminates the annoying glare and fingerprints.
