Good to hear.

Dang, the jokes you always manage to set me up for that aren't suitable for public consumption.
Maybe one of these times I'll catch you off guard and you'll make the joke! ;)

Do you think if I kick under the rear bumper like a gay man the hatch will open?
You know what? I never realized it and I think you're right! You just have to kick with a little more ✨Spice✨

In reality though, I the best tip I've found is just a fast kick under the center of the bumper, like you're trying to kick a ball straight forward

What would be great to see is what phone, wireless or wired connect, and OS you are saying yeah or ney to as well.

Quite honestly, the Pixel 6 Pro and the Mach-e do NOT seem to play well together at all. Yesterday, Android Auto just decided to "not" work until almost getting home. The last time (a month ago..) I tried Paak was in near freezing temperature at an ACE Hardware after 2 attempt lockout. Will NOT be "another" cold day before I go without a FOB again..

Side note: I am going to try wired again anyway (vs wireless) as Pixel 6/Android Auto, Ford, and VPN do not play well with OpenVPN. And, it doesn't support split tunnel.

I assume you have removed all restrictions from FP? No battery restrictions, no location restrictions, no background running restrictions?
Where do you go to check these restrictions?

It depends on your phone and Android version, but go to settings and search for FordPass. Open the app settings and you should see permissions and battery restrictions. If it says "optimize", turn that off. Optimize means it is restricting app background use. Location restrictions should be fully removed - that is very important.

Job 1 here will all updates applied. Ford Corp has arranged for a second fob to be given to me as PaaK is not reliable. I'm very happy with their response and focus to make the situation right. PaaK is better now nine months later but still not anywhere near flawless.

A fob is in a faraday bag hidden so I don't get stranded. Backup start code still has issues appearing. Key not detected appears every couple days and kick to open not very reliable with PaaK. PaaK has gotten better and hopefully by 2023 its near perfect.
There are 2 settings you have to have on for PaaK to work consistently. One is pretty obvious - you have to have the locations services on the FP app "always on." The second is not intuitive. On the FP app, there is a toggle for "Motion and Fitness." That has to be on. Don't ask me why. It just does.

Must be an Android thing as my iPhone app doesn’t show any of that.

Sometime in the last few weeks I have noticed that my PAAK has been working like it is advertised to work. It has been almost flawless, and I have even been able to leave my phone in my pocket and drive away a few times if I forget to put it on the console. This maybe should not be newsworthy, but I would get hopeful after every Android app update and PowerUp over the last year that maybe this would be the update that fixed it. Recently I think they did it, and I am not sure what part got it over the hump but I absolutely love it. Now I am not as nervous that I am going to be showing off my car to friends or family and be met with the "No Key Detected" warning instead of starting.

I'm sure as a punishment for posting this bluetooth is going to turn my phone into a space heater tomorrow, and I will type my passcode once a day for the next month, but I thought it would be nice to send the software folks at Ford (or their outsource contractors???) a gold star for their effort.
I have the same experience. It was serious JUNK until end of January, and then suddenly it started to work as advertised. Unbelievable. I still don't understand it. But am a happy customer....finally.

Not sure where this setting is? I'm on a S21 Ultra 12.
On my iPhone, I go into settings. Find the FordPass app in settings. Hit the toggle for motion and fitness

Yep ..physical cable connect much better for Android auto. No delay, glitching, and best of all.. openvpn works with car functions in parallel.

I’m probably going to jinx myself, but I’m ready to say that PAAK is really good now. I’m probably down to around a 2% failure rate.

If you define failure as not being able to get in the car and start it, I am at 0% failure rate. I don't even carry (or hide) my Fob for backup. I am 100% PaaK!

Same here. Kinda.

My employer changed mobile phone service providers so my Samsung S10 Verizon phone lost it's data service and I was given a new Samsung S20. Now when working around the house or in my garage on weekends, I carry the old S10 in my pocket since it's smaller and I don't have to be as careful with it any longer. Sometimes I have to move my car out of the driveway or run a short errand and in those instances the PaaK feature in my data-less S10 has worked nearly perfectly. I might even go so far to say that it functions nearly as well as FaaK.

So, without a data plan, the PaaK in my S10 works great.
I can't speak to the S20 because I never bothered to set up PaaK in that phone. It's likely that I will get a new phone once a year so I don't what to have to keep setting up PaaK over and over again. Pairing the phone to the car via BT is enough. :)

No, I define failure as getting a “no key detected” message and having to use the backup start code. As long as I very rarely have to do that, I’m good with PAAK.

I’d like to cast a vote for not having an option to even set it up! 3+ months, never been able to set it up! (And yes, all connectivity features are activated.)
