When I was in high school (the 60's) there was an old guy on our block who owned a beautiful black Ford Edsel. Washed every Saturday, probably waxed ever month.

I can see myself in that scene, but with my Rapid Red Mach-E.

Now on my second MME GT, lo ve the car that has been great to drive and trouble free for the most part to own. Not concerned about depreciation because that is he cost of a fun toy, but I am concerned about future maintenance support if Ford discontinues the model and availability of parts.

Yeah, sales dropped some. But, as others have said, the Lightning was cancelled (even though coming back next year). They are focusing on the UEV platform and not older models, and that makes sense since the UEV is supposed to be their EV future. They wouldn't be making the Fathom if they thought there was no money in it. I almost wonder if the next gen MME is similar to what it is now, but moved over to the UEV platform. But, my 26 MME is tied for the best overall vehicle I've ever owned in quality, right next to the 24 Tremor I had before this, and if they improve on the experience with the UEV platform, they could be positioned well, especially if the current administration can't put their heads out of their rears with regards to Iran.

I plan on driving my '23 GT for at least 10 years. I'd love to buy another one at that point, but there's some real improvements that need to be made before then before I would consider purchasing another.

You can't expect younger people whose iphones feel extremely snappy to want to buy a car with a touchscreen that has the response time of my first smartphone from the early 2000's. I'm fine with it and used to it now, but I absolutely would not purchase again without the touchscreen getting a major overhaul.
Right there with you. The performance is embarrassing, always has been on all Fords, but especially my 2023 Mach-E.

I bought an aftermarket Alpine unit for my 2003 Explorer so I could have Android Auto, and the performance is so much better, it's maddening.

Despite having a lot of nameplates, there still aren’t really good EVs on the market. Otherwise, Ford would have sold even less.
This is exactly how I feel. I need to replace the hooptie Focus EV I have, but the options are boring or stupidly expensive.

Let's not forget the EVs out there that are not sold in the US for whatever (protectionist) reasons...

I just traded my 2022 select for a 2026 premium extended range. I have to wait weeks for it to arrive. Around here, they can't keep them in stock. Every time I go for a drive, I see several on the road. When I bought mine about 3 years ago, it was rare to see another one.
