From what I have read, it should be possible to use apaters like the Jdapter and the TeslaTap to allow the Mach E to charge at Tesla charging stations. Are there certain adapters like this that should be considered for maximizing the charging speed with the MME at Tesla charging stations? Also, are there any that will allow for charging at Tesla Superchargers or are they only able to allow for charging at Destination Chargers?

There are no Tesla to CCS adapters so you can not use a Supercharger.
For a Tesla destination charger, be sure it’s rated at 50 amps.

Tesla Tap has a 50A and a 80A unit you should consider. I bought the 50A for occasional use but if you plan to use it regularly get the 80A.

Just tried my TeslaTap for the first time to let Elon charge our Leaf for free at a restaurant. Worked just fine. It’ll be great to have that as an option for our Mach E.

That is awesome! I had no idea we had that option! How much are they?

Cool! I picked one up for MME road trips. Many hotels have Tesla Destination Chargers.

I received my 80A this week. The Mach-E will be sharing my 60A hardwired Tesla Wall Connector with the Model 3 when it arrives.

So - is there any circumstance in which you'd buy the 50A rather than the 80A adapter then? Not sure this math is right, but if the MME's charger is rated at 11kW, then the max current you'll ever draw is about 46A off a 240V Tesla EVSE? The price difference is between the 50A and 80A adapter is pretty modest, but this would still be an 'in case of emergency' or occasional road trip purchase for me.

When drawing constant current for more than three hours, the draw should be no more than 80% of the rated capacity. So, since the MME can draw up to 48A it is recommended to get the 80A teslatap (or this new minitap). If the charger you're plugging into only does 40A max, then the 50A teslatap is OK.

Excuse me, I am a little slow on the uptake here, why does the website say, " This adapter is NOT COMPATIBLE and is not to be used with the Tesla Super Charger Network. "
Isn't that the whole idea?

This is not for use on the Tesla Supercharger network. It’s for use on private charging stations that cater to Tesla. Like you might find at a winery or hotel.
