No, I didn't drive there but was amazed at how many Mach-Es I saw on the road. In Oslo, I probably saw 5 in the space of 2 hours. In Bergen, at least 6 over the course of a couple of days and several more throughout the country.

I saw more Mach-Es in two weeks in Norway than I do in So Cal, LA county, than I do in a month plus here!

Also, the charging infrastructure appears to be much more built out than in the U.S.

Yeah, but ….

Kinda feels like they’re cleaning and greening up the place by selling that dirty oil to everyone else. I liken it to the alcohol situation in Utah. All of the liquor stores there are state-owned. The state, as everyone knows is heavily Mormon and they don’t drink. So, IMHO, it always felt like, “we don’t abide alcohol, but we’d be glad to sell it to you for a tidy profit.”

Just an academic discussion. Don’t go ballistic.

I was in China earlier this year... I was surprised to see a MME there... and zillions of other EVs.

Lots of EV's in Amsterdam too. I posted some photos a while back on a similar thread of all the taxi's and Uber's we used which were either Tesla's or MME's. A few Polestar's here and there. Level 1 chargers, which seemed to be on many street corners, don't have cables attached. You bring your own cable. Keeps the streets and sidewalks looking clean instead of seeing black cables laying around everywhere.

I didn't know that about UT, so I'm glad to learn something new. And yes, I think Norway is greenwashing their oil and gas industry just a wee bit :(

There is a video or two from CNBC around Norway's EV adoption. It's inspiring.
We often use the excuse of winter cold that impacts EV. Well Norway experience cold weather too. But they just trundle on with their EVs. ?‍♂

We continue to slip behind in EV tech and resulting adoption compared to modernised RoW.

No, not the same. NH isn’t predominantly Mormon, and not established, historically run by and legislated by a predominantly Mormon populace that doesn’t drink. Yes, many other states have state run liquor stores. Please don’t take this as anti Utah or anti Mormon rant. It is what it is but I always thought it was a bit curious when I lived there. Utah is a beautiful place , albeit a bit different than some others, but then again, aren’t we all. Carry on. I’ll move on to other things.

Or maybe it's called investing in the next generation. e.g. our children's future?
But who’s children? Somebody somewhere is still burning that vile petroleum and fouling some children’s air, right. It’s not like they’re not still selling it.

I'm actually encouraged at the rate of adoption of EV's in Oil State Texas. We have commutes that would cross Norway. ?

A bit of hyperbole, but you get the point.

Norway has 5.2 million people so it’s not a big country

we have 333 million people and our country is huge by comparison.
