Keeping the A/C on

I don't have the car yet but I'm wondering if we can keep the A/C after we leave and lock the car. I'm looking to use this when picking my kid from school on hot days (~+40ºc).

Yes you can, you just have to leave the car on. You would have to turn off the shut off timer that should do it.

You don't mean with your kid in the car like pet mode or something do you?

If not, the easiest way if you're going to be 30 minutes or less is to just lock the car and start walking away and start the car with the Ford pass app.

Not sure if it locks automatically - I've always had my key with me - but you can always lock the doors remotely through the app.

- leave car 'on'
- click into 'settings', and disable vehicle auto-off timer
- exit car.... lock via interior door lock button, or exterior doorlock on pillar, or with FP remote lock

Do you manually lock the car in the B panel, FOB, PAAK, or does walk away lock work still while the car is on.

I am thinking about doing this whenever i go to work first thing in the morning usually get a cup of joe down the street. I might as well leave the car on. I just fired her up say 5-8 minutes ago. No point in shutting down and firing it up when I am in and out of the coffee shop in less than 5 minutes. Unless I am flirting with the hot baristas which can take a little more LOL.

You can lock the car with the keys in it with the door numbers 8-9 and 9-0 at the same time.

The idea is leave the car empty, get the kid (5-10 mins) and get back to it.

I haven't experimented. I would pull out the FOB and lock it, because I would want to make sure it locked. Keypad works also, hitting the 7/8 9/0 at the same time.

Yes, leave it on and take the key with you. Hit the lock button on the B pillar. I would not leave it on with the key inside, easy to smash a window and steal, or if it doesn’t lock. If the key is gone it won’t shift out of park FYI.

Not sure why you would leave the AC on. We live in Florida and using remote start a minute or two before we get in the car gets in plenty cool enough.
