Key fob proximity issues

I have 3 different key fobs and all of them do not work with my MME after I take a few steps away from the car. I have to lock the car with the key fob as soon as I step out of the car and close the door. If I take any steps away, the key fob will not work for some reason. This is the case with all 3 key fobs. The fob that the dealer supplied I installed a new battery, and issue still persists. The other 2 fobs are brand new and show the same issue.

I had the dealership take a look at this issue, and they stated that it was the 12v battery on the car. They replaced it, but the issue is still happening. I have tried calling the dealer again to schedule another date to bring it in to have it checked again, but they are terrible at returning my calls/voicemails.

Im wondering if anyone here knows what the issue could be or if anyone has had this issue ?

Im currently having to lock the car using my PAAK and having the lock when walk away automatic feature as well.

How long have you had this problem?Have you tried turning walk away lock off and then back on?

Find a different dealer. The 12V battery cannot cause this without a bunch of other issues. He’s just a parts-changer, not a troubleshooter.

I’ve had this problem for about a month. I actually just tried doing this. It didn’t work ?

Mine has done this with both key FOBs since I got the car a few months ago. My FOBs will operate to max distance of about 30' (40' if hold up to head). I assumed its normal for this car. Wish it was like other cars that have a distance of 100-200'

If the 12v and the FOB batteries were both replaced, I'd suspect something is messing with the antenna. I know on my RS it's in the back seat, not sure where it is in the MachE. Wondering if something is sitting on it.

I've been using PAAK and lock when walking away predominantly since buying the car, and it's been flawless thus far. If that's a feasible and functional solution, why not just use it? I like not having to carry the fairly big keyfob. Some days I only have my phone and credit card wallet with me when I leave. In reality I only need the wallet to hold my license, I don't even need the credit cards (can pay most places with the phone if I wanted).

[I only need work keys when I need to go to the office, and our home has keypad security and garage door opener tied to the included MME home automation -- I consider these some of the rare nice things we get from tech nowadays, with few ramifications if executed properly]

I think Ford could do that, but the key fob would need to be about 4x larger.

Have the fob batteries been replaced?

We were doing DM yesterday.

He bought the 22 select about a month ago.

He replaced all the batteries including the 12V.

This is exactly how my car works. I walk away from the car ~ 15', then set the Key FOB on the ground. Then walk back to the car and the doors are locked, without any noise or lights! Works silently as desired.
