Just what I thought. Thank you for corroborating that. Batteries+ quoted me $75 for programming and cutting the emergency key. I'll have to ask if the price is lower if they don't have to cut the key blank. The dealer hasn't got back to me on his cost. I'm still hoping he'll do it gratis when my car comes in (or should I say "if"?). It would be good PR for them. He has agreed to mount the four bolts (one per wheel) of my wheel locks at no cost to me already.
I didn't know the "Plus" part of "Batteries Plus Blubs" (*) included fob programming. Well, TIL.

Ford Mustang Key Fob Replacement Services at Batteries Plus Bulbs though only goes to 2014 - I don't know if they told you wrong and don't realize what you were asking or if the web site is out of date.

I think a lot of people will be curious to hear what your experience with them will be assuming your dealer doesn't come through for you, since Batteries Plus Bulbs as a good retail footprint in part of the country I think?

(*) the "bulbs" part is dumb.

I emailed the guy there and gave him my model and year and his answer indicated that they would do it for our Mach E’s. They have replaced batteries on my iPhone and iPad. iPhone went well but they wrecked the screen on my iPad Pro and Apple had to replace it. Cost was over $400 and Batteries + reimbursed me for entire cost. We now have a brand new iPad. As far as my experiences with either Batteries+ or my dealer, that will have to wait until after I receive my car and I'm thinking June or July.

There is another way to enter and start the vehicle without a fob and without PaaK. Right there in the manual provided in the glove box and available online. A numerical code you can enter on the B pillar to enter and another code to start. No one should be "stranded" on a mountain top. ... snip ...
nope, at least not in my glove box.

There is a card with a 5-digit code that I can enter on the door pillar to get into the vehicle... There is NOT any code I know about I can enter anywhere to 'start/run' the car without a Key present in the car.

If you can give me any details on where to find and enter this second code, without a functional PAAK or physical Fob in the car, to start/run the car I'd be relieved, and grateful.

You'll need to get PaaK working before you can set a backup start code. You'll never have to use PaaK if you don't want to, but you need to at least get it setup to set the code.

Settings > Vehicle > Backup Start Passcode

I believe you have to have PaaK configured for this to become available to program. Once programmed, you can unlock

that is exactly the problem.... I cannot complete the configuration of PAAK with my phone, so I get no passcode.

I can open my car with the 5-digit pillar code, but when I hit 'start' I do not get a popup to enter a passcode, I get a pop-up on dash 'no key detected'.

Yup, that's the issue you'll need to get resolved first. It would have been nice if they allowed a backup start code without PaaK, but here we are.

Yes, this part I know... which is the root of my problem... PAAK doesn't like my phone, so I cannot get thru the configuration, so I never get a passcode, so I have NO backup way to start the car without a physical Key.

Do you have your FOB in cat? I would think you would need your fob in car to set up drive code.

Here's my CarandTruckRemotes.com key fob. Now I just need a car to go with it.

I ordered one from Cars and Trucks - had dealer program it yesterday for my FE - works great. Looks identical to one that came with the car. Called some of the locksmiths listed for my area on the Cars and Trucks site - the first one said could not do it and the second one did not get back to me. So had dealer do it - one advantage is that if anything goes wrong with the programming, I have a dealer who is responsible. FWIW. BTW got the second FOB because of concerns that PAAK may not always work, and my wife will be using the second FOB. I don't remember the last time a FOB didn't work absent a dead battery in the FOB. So why can we get an identical FOB from Cars and Trucks but not Ford?

As I recall (it was just a few days ago!!), I unintstalled FordPass on my phone, then reinstalled it. My account info was still there, so I deleted the car and re-added it using the scanned bar code on the window sticker. There was a thread post I followed (maybe by Maric). The process started over again to create the PaaK, which I was then able to get through all the way to the passcode setup. I still was unable to use PaaK reliably which is why I have ordered a second fob. May be related to poor cell reception at my daughter's house.

Maybe Cars and Trucks keeps buying them up from Ford (or their supplier) so Ford can't keep them in stock.
this was one of my two serious guesses as well... the other being that I thought some folks had said these were the same fobs as ICE Mustangs (although without remote start I don't see how? is that still optional on the ICE Mustangs?) and Ford's site was just being pickier about allocating stock to different models.

The reconditioned fob I purchased from C&T was for a 2019 mustang. Even has the right hatchback button. Works great. Maybe c&t is better at inventory management.
