I’ve done searches, and the most detailed instructions I can find are “remove the beauty covers, unscrew a few bolts, then lift the frunk tub out, being careful of the light/switch cable.”
I’m not very mechanically inclined, but I am adventurous. I need to remove the frunk tub to install a lighted pony (thanks @markboris and BSKT!) However it would help to have detailed instructions, including which bolts and where, what size socket is required, whether a torx bit is required to remove some screws (and if so, what size torx bit) and most importantly, the part number for the easily broken/lost clips and whether they are easily order able on Amazon for quick delivery (I anticipate breaking many small plastic fiddly things ?).
Thanks!

Unfortunately what's not included in the shop manual are the specific torx and bolt sizes for socket sets. I suspect the reason for this is that mechanics tool sets would include a full range to choose from, so it's not necessary to call them out.

Note that these instructions are for a 2021 model. Later MY frunks were similar but a bit different with the specifics of fasteners and covers, etc.

If you're going to lose any clips...they'll be the ones for the beauty panels on the left, right, and center surrounds of the frunk tub itself. This is what they look like:

I detailed how to remove the beauty panels a while ago, here's that link.

Hey Jim, out of the country until the 15th but I posted a video last year of me removing the frunk tub in 2 1/2 minutes (takes 30 seconds less if it’s a ’24 and up). You will need a trim removal tool (or thin flat blade screwdriver) to remove the beauty covers in the frunk covering the screws. The Torx screws use a T-30 Torx bit. Ford did use bolts on some that require a 10 mm socket.

Below is the video I posted (not very detailed at all) and a package of the clips should you break or loose any.

Thank you! I have a 21 so this is great!

Thanks so much mark. The video is very helpful! If the weather is nice, I may tackle this next week. I did buy the trim removal set the guy in the Ponies thread recommended. One of the tools looks like it may actually be helpful to remove the star washers.

Thank you! I’ll check for these at Amazon and my ford dealer before starting. As I said, I fully expect to break/lose a few ?

If anybody is looking for a 3D print file for these clips: https://transfer.it/t/B0CXFNhhxB6b

I've printed several in PETG and they've proven durable enough.

I have never broken any. I have lost 5 since getting my 2021. Frunk tubs have been removed multiple times on both the 2021 and the 2024. I have devised a way to try to keep the retining pins captive on the panels but I haven’t tried removing panels since. I guess I should try removing/replacing a few times. ?‍♂?

10 mm socket/ratchet and T30 bit. Pry tools to remove the covers to expose the hidden nuts at the bottom. The T30s are under a beauty cover by the latch, on new cars they are just exposed. It's pretty self explanatory once you get the funk covers off.

EDIT: The T30's are also slotted, so you can just use a regular wide tip flat screwdriver on them if you don't have a T30.

I resemble that guy! ?

This is the best video I've found on the frunk removal. After watching it, I didn't have any more concerns:
