My coworker has a Grabber Blue GT on order and she is wanting to change it to a white Premium. It's really weird that GT reservation holders are not being contacted to firm up their orders.

I'm not sure we will receive this kind of email has we don't have online reservation here on ford.ca and we even don't have a reservation number. I had email my dealer last week about this June 22nd date, but no answer yet. My guess is that in Canada we have to wait after the dealers and they have to wait after Ford Canada to give them the go ahead. :(

My dealer said that the rest of the process would be through them. They are also digging through all the documents.

I did receive the prep email where I need to decide if I want to buy or back out.
Maybe they are looking to see how many people are actually serious?

I like/want the car but do not need a 4th car right now. I will probably get anyway since 1 is a company lease which is up in about a year. I also know my wife would love this car.

I just spoke with the Sales Manager at my local dealership who had a "very long" document sent to him today, but he hadn't been able to go through it all. He skimmed it with me on the phone, and it seemed like it was the "Reservation to Order Guide" referenced here I think? He did mention these dates along with the "deadline" for ordering on certain trims/etc.
Yes. I see the Mach-E playbook now. You were right.

That was my guess -- that people should be able to go in and see final pricing in the order book, look up options and configs, etc. But not actually be able to place the order until 6/30. Which makes sense because people should have some time to research the finalized prices and options.
Could be to a way to test the new pages, make sure they have capacity in place, etc... before it is advertised to all. It's not uncommon to spread the release or ramp up capacity of a website over several days...

That said, it's unlikely to be hit by that many where there should be any capacity issues... but there could be bugs/questions that show up in those first few days between it being online and announced.

Please let us know whatever you can.
This thing has all kinds of secret and confidential markings on it. So I can't share anything that is not already out there or any images. Sorry to our global friends but this document seems to be U.S. focused.

But, I will say the playbook confirms what has already been said about the timing of the order banks and ability to switch dealers. I remember someone asking how long will Ford honor (hold) your reservation and that is in here (ask your dealer because I can't say).

It is a long and comprehensive document I would recommend if you are working with your dealer to give them a chance to read it (Mach-E Launch Playbook Summer 2020). There's lots of information in here and links to additional resources. This guide should help the dealers to be better prepared to answer your questions or at least point them in the right direction to find answers for you.

Really the first half of the playbook is just to prep the dealers. Get them familiar with the Mach-E and some how to's / style guides to update their websites, reminders of the advertising rules, how the unique E-Invoice (MSRP) works. Confirms what we already knew that the Mach-E is AXZD pricing eligible. Then links to job aids and information to help with reservation to order conversions. Information about the Ford Connected Charging Station (nothing new here). Another page about installing charging stations at the dealerships. A page about making sure they have the right service equipment. Info about the test drive unit program rules (how long to keep them in service and which units are eligible). Links to details about the Ford Credit, Ford Options (lease-like) program.

I think this guide is a great step forward for Ford to get the dealers engaged and knowledgeable about the Mach-E and the new online processes (maybe they can catch up a bit with all of us ;)).

Do you feel like anything is missing from the guide that should be there?

Does the field guide indicate that Ford and dealers now have info on the options and pricing?
(Just looking for yes/no answer, as I appreciate that you can't disclose confidential pricing info if it is in the guide.)

That’s a great question. I’ll have to think about that for a bit (maybe reply more later). I had to read the special scenarios / special editions section a couple times. But that’s probably just me, I know there is always a balance between being descriptive enough and being concise. I think I would have liked more definitive details on equipment packages and/or order configurations especially considering the recent hands free driving press release. I’m guessing more info like that is coming soon.

The guide seemed to be focused on getting us through the order process/phase. I’m guessing there will be another version in the fall to get us through the delivery phase. I would have liked more details about the final delivery process, but it’s probably too early for that.

No it does not say. I’m guessing that will be on the 22nd? Or whatever date the order guide is available.

Also does it cover what happens to cancelled first editions (are they up for grabs)?
