Let Us know...
Robert Iorio recently provided the same response as what was stated in November. (So no new news, essentially.)

Not right away. I'm pretty sure we have the hardware on the car to develop and download a feature like that in the future though.

I like the sentry and dashcam ideas as I have my own installed in my car. I would also suggest creating a performance recorder just like new Corvette Stingrays have, and offer it on the GT and other performance Mach-E models as an option.

I'm curious. When do features turn from luxury/extra to baseline?

Seriously, folks - I'd rather them focus on making the basic functionality rock solid and extraneous stuff like this later. The whole point of OTA is that new features like this can be added easily. it's not particularly difficult software and if they get a lot of requests for it they will do it sooner. They might even think to include the in-car viewer in v1.0

Agree; that's my point to @Mach-MI. Tesla is the only (as far as I know) car with a built-in dash cam -- somehow that has already turned into a standard feature for all cars.

Cars are most likely the most technically complicated item any person will own.

How do you...
  1. Meet regulations that are different in different parts of the world
  2. Make it safe
  3. Make it fuel efficient
  4. Make it attractive
  5. Have features that are desirable to consumers
  6. Make it reliable
  7. Make it easy to assemble
  8. Make it easy to service
  9. Make it easy to support
  10. Make the tech secure against cyber attacks (a relatively new concern)
  11. Make it affordable
  12. Make it better than before

Some of those things are diametrically opposed to each other. I think this is forgotten a lot.
