Firstly, you are not the only customer - other customers are getting their cars, so from their perspective Ford is "doing right by their customers".You second paragraph makes my point exactly: Ford is doing what is convenient for Ford, not what is right by the customer.
Secondly Ford is making the best of a shitty situation. Ford has tens of thousands of vehicles built that they can't deliver. That means for each undelivered car they have tens of thousands of dollars tied up in raw materials and labor that they have to carry. Ford is doing their damnedest to get those cars delivered but they can't deliver them all right now - so SOME criteria has to be used to prioritize. Undoubtedly they are including cost AND trying to keep customers happy as the criteria.
Are you really going to try to say that they are wrong for trying to minimize how much of a bloodbath they are taking, or that you wouldn't do exactly the same thing in their situation?
Come on man
