You second paragraph makes my point exactly: Ford is doing what is convenient for Ford, not what is right by the customer.
Firstly, you are not the only customer - other customers are getting their cars, so from their perspective Ford is "doing right by their customers".

Secondly Ford is making the best of a shitty situation. Ford has tens of thousands of vehicles built that they can't deliver. That means for each undelivered car they have tens of thousands of dollars tied up in raw materials and labor that they have to carry. Ford is doing their damnedest to get those cars delivered but they can't deliver them all right now - so SOME criteria has to be used to prioritize. Undoubtedly they are including cost AND trying to keep customers happy as the criteria.

Are you really going to try to say that they are wrong for trying to minimize how much of a bloodbath they are taking, or that you wouldn't do exactly the same thing in their situation?

Come on man

I ordered my mach e premium in february 2021, I got a production date of the week of July 5. The dealer got an email in July 13 saying my car has been built just waiting on chip. When I track on shop ford I get in production. I got an email in August saying my delivery date has been delayed 6 weeks or more. Ford updates the status on fridays, well last friday I finally got an estimated delivery date of October 31, 2021. Over 8 months from order date. What gives

We ordered our car on 2/18/21. Build week was July 5th. We received the email for the chip delay but then a few weeks ago the order showed shipped and an arrival between 8/25 & 8/31. Car has never shown up. So I checked again today and now the arrival is now showing as 11/6 to 11/12. This is quite frustrating!

I few weeks after you finally receive your car this frustration won't matter. Same thing happened to me where much later reservations were getting there cars before my by months. I received my premium and the "pain" went away quickly because it is a great car.

I am now waiting on a GTPE and the same things is happening. I reserved in Jan2020 and some that didn't reserve until Fall of 2020 are getting cars. Just the way it is. Ford definitely does not completely follow the reservation orders which is frustrating but in the end, a month off or so will quickly disappear once you have your car. Just hope the chips keep coming so my GT that is getting dusty in Mexico can start it's trip north soon.
I fully expect that. At the end of the day it is just a car, and on most days there are more pressing matters to deal with than worrying about a car I ordered.

When the plant received the last batch of parts toward the end of July, it prioritized vehicles on the production line because it made sense logistically, as well as the backlog of June builds because they had been in the holding lot the longest. I noticed this, because days after mine was sent to a holding lot a couple of vehicles (identical in configuration to my order) started production in the last week of July and was shipped on 8/10 to other dealers in my area along with the June backlog. August as well as most of September have passed, the same thing happened again toward the end of August, except this time the July backlog was barely reduced based on anecdotes - those writing on this forum are only a small fraction of all the customers out there, for that reason drawing conclusions based on posts here is inherently problematic, I am just going to note that when they started clearing the June backlog within a matter of days all the folks with June builds reported shipping confirmation. So what happens if the plant continues to receive barely enough parts to finish the vehicles currently on the assembly line? I guess we will find out soon enough as supply chain issues will persist for a while.

When you saw your order status change to "shipped", did you see it under shop.ford.com? If that was the only place where you saw it, then it didn't mean anything to begin with - for me it flipped to "shipped" on July 20 because my order's "primary status" changed to "In Transit", as in transit to a holding lot rather than to Kansas City, and until today that tracking page insisted the delivery date would be 8/22-8/28.

I have almost the same dates as you -- GTPE build date of 8/9, finished build on 9/11, shipped on 9/14 to Bay Area, ETA 10/26-10/31.

Seems like they might have prioritized GT / GTPE builds at some point.

My GTPE was ordered April 27th, shown as having a "build week" of August 16th, updated on August 21st to "building" on August 21st (a Saturday, btw), the dealer's Vehicle Visibility readout showed it as "built" on Sept. 1st, but parked and waiting on chips, and finally showed "shipped" on Sept. 15th, with an estimated 34-days-to-dealer-delivery. Currently showing an Oct. 20-26 date for dealer delivery. Nothing is showing on palsapp.com but an invoice number and "pending".

I think that Ford must have done a run of GT's and GTPE's to get them to dealer showrooms. My GTPE had a 2 week wait on chips, not 6 weeks. BTW, I never got a 6-week-chip-wait notification.

I am in the same boat with the same dates as you. Ordered in February and built on July 9. It first said ETA at the end of August. Then it changed to October 31 and finally it changed to N/A. This is frustrating and I keep waiting.
Today I could see a little light at the end of the tunnel. After a month without an ETA, today I change to 11/04. I hope so??

Not sure that they prioritized GTs or GT-PEs. My production week got delayed for my GT-PE reservation. Or maybe Ford just doesn’t like me.

I fully understand that supply chain issues are behind the delays, while annoyed I am not bothered by that. That said, I am bothered by Ford doing what is convenient for Ford rather than what is fair to the customer. My build started on 7/14 and was nearly completed on 7/20, but as of now is still waiting for parts. On the other hand, another order at my dealer with the same specs (except paint color) with a scheduled build date in the last week of August was shipped on 9/15. In other words my order has been delayed by 8 weeks, while an August build is on time.
I was told by a dealer today the EB batteries are being given to GT orders as a priority , if that is true others will be waiting even longer

Here is some update on my case so that you can do your roast calculation on your dates. Premium model RW ER white color. It was ordered on Feb. 26 with a production on July 09. Then it went on to wait for the chip. Yesterday the ETA was updated to Nov. 04. Today I wake up with a Build date of September 20 (yesterday) and a shipping date of September 21 (today). I hope to get my hands on it in a month or sooner. The destination is Atlanta. If someone has already had a delivery experience similar to mine please let me know how long it takes to arrive after the shipping date. I hope this information helps you.

This is very interesting- I mean, not surprising that they would prioritize one model over another, especially if it has a higher profit margin.
Doesn’t seem “fair” but I’m pretty sure there’s not a Ford Fairness Guru managing the orders ??

The GT orders are from early 2020. I think that is fair.

ordered mine 3/8- built 7/20 and been on hold ever since. so far it seem that they are very little MMEs being shipped and we are now over a month since they sent the delay note. Minimum 6 week delay with $75 worth of charging as a compensation. I have my fingers crossed that we hear something soon, I am not sure how much longer we can go being a 1 car household
Received an email this morning alerting me that my MME has been shipped and expected delivery Oct 21-27th- Fingers are still crossed!

I originally ordered an AWD ER Premium on 2.21. Over 4 months went by without even a build week. So on 4.27 I ordered a GTPE. The Premium had a build week of 7.12 but then the six week chip delay. there has not been any update on whether or not it has been built or when it will arrive and we’re at 7 months during production. I just received an email that my GTPE is built and shipping with an estimated delivery 10.22-10.29.
