8 months into ownership 4,000 miles later a bubble appeared on my front right tire.
They say it’s damage not a defect and want $435 for a new tire!
I’m livid! I certainly didn’t realize I would have to have insurance on my new tires.
Has anyone else experienced this?

The good news is that you only need one, and they are cheaper on Tire Rack. The bad news is that they are still expensive.

They are correct; it's a damaged tire. It's Most likely from hitting a pothole, which pinched the sidewall in that location and caused the structural damage.

If it were a manufacturing defect those will usually show up much earlier than 8 months/4k miles.

I may have more bad news. If you drive your GTPE like most us do, your Pirelli summer tires are only going to last less than 15,000 miles. Mine got to 2/32 of inch around 10k. Too low for me so I waited for a sale at Americas Yire at put some Pirelli all season p-Zero electric vehicle tires on. If you’re 25% there and there is a sale, consider going the other 3/4 and get a full set. I love mine current tiresand they will last more than the damn summer tires. The stock tires are absolute garbage unless you live somewhere warm all the time or the MME is your summer car.

I’m noticing the same amount of wear. The popularity of P Zeros is beyond me, I’m convinced it’s because they simply look good and have a nice name. The other best seller, Michelin Pilot Sport 4s beats it in every category even when new, and outlasts by multiple times for a very modest price increase. Looking at those for my next set, or try out the Hankook Ion summers.

If I wear these out as quickly at the stock tires, I will look for another brand. Fool me once, shame you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

That seems to be a ridiculous price for that tire. Shop around.

When I popped my wife’s Explorer tire, I found an exact one at a used tire shop.

which one is it?

I’ve always found the OEM tires to be overpriced.

I think is a small conspiracy between car manufacturers and tire companies.

Tire companies supply the tires cheap to the manufacturers and in return overcharge people for replacements.

It’s been like that with my last 4 cars.

I found the Pirelli P-Zero Elect OEM to be good for handling, but really not much else. I think they are fragile, one shouldn’t be on a daily driver.

What's annoying is trying to find the stock GT tires. The Conti's. Ford's been $360'ish each mounted. I've resorted to buying them used with about the same wear. I'm going to run these down as much as I can and then dump um for something nice. The Conti's are 'better' wear wise than the P Zero's but at a cost of traction and road noise.

I'd recommend probably 10 other tires above these if we are making recommendations.

Go for it! Please recommend my plan right now after doing some research is to go to Costco and see what they can order or even Pep Boys because they are so close to me and offer damage insurance
I right now have Pirelli Zero summer that came with the car I live in Los Angeles
